Unpaid Item Process
 
If your buyer has not completed the sale, here is what to do next.
 
  1. Payment Reminder
    You can send the buyer a Payment Reminder between 3 and 30 days after the auction.

  2. Exchange contact details
    The buyer may not be able to reply to you straight away. The buyer may have computer or other problems. If the buyer does not reply to your emails, you can request to exchange contact details. Many issues can be resolved by good communication between you and the buyer.

  3. Report an unpaid item
    If you can't resolve the issue with the buyer, or the buyer backs out of the auction, you can apply for a refund of the sale fee between 7 and 45 days after the auction. The buyer is required to respond immediately. The unpaid item report must be closed within 30 days of lodging to receive a refund of the sale fee. Learn about the process

Both mutually agree to cancel the sale

If you and the buyer both mutually agree to cancel the sale, you can skip the waiting period and get a refund of your sales fee immediately.

After receiving a refund you can relist the item or send an Underbidder Offer.
