Learn about Buyer Shield
Eligible goods paid for by PayPal,
Paymate or Credit Card and
posted by 'Proof of Delivery' postage will be eligible for up to $400 Buyer Shield
protection if you do not receive the goods you paid for.
Note: Buyer Shield covers goods that can be physically shipped by 'Proof
of Delivery' postage (registered/insured post or proof of delivery courier) and
paid for by either PayPal, Paymate or Credit Card, from sellers that have completed
Phone or Australia Post Verification and have a 98% or more unique satisfied buyers
rating. Read the
Buyer Shield Terms and Conditions to find out more.
What is 'Proof of Delivery' postage?
Proof of delivery postage requires that a signature is obtained on delivery (the
item can be tracked). Australia Post offer Registered/Insured Post and most courier companies offer
'Proof of Delivery'.
How do I know if an item is covered by Buyer Shield?
Look for the Buyer Shield logo in the item description page and ensure you check
the eligibility requirements in the
Buyer Shield Terms and Conditions.

Why do some items have a higher amount of cover?
The amount you can claim is dependant on the Eligible Seller's rating and verification
level at the time of the purchase (see table below) of the Eligible Goods. You may
claim an amount paid by you of up to $400.

I did not receive the goods. What should I do first?
If you do not receive the goods you paid for, there are several procedures and policies
in place to help. See
Buyer Protection Programs for more information.
I'm a seller, how can I have the Buyer Shield section shown on my items?
- Become Phone Verified
or Australia
Post Verified; and
- Offer 'Proof of Delivery' postage (registered/insured post or proof of delivery
courier) if requested and paid for by your buyer. You must turn this on in your Selling Preferences;
and
- Offer either PayPal, Paymate or Credit Card as an accepted payment method; and
- Ensure you maintain a 98% or more unique satisfied buyers rating; and
- Read the
Buyer Shield Terms and Conditions.
Consider becoming
Australia Post Verified to increase the amount of cover on your items.
