Advertise your item using a classified ad
The majority of items on quicksales are sold by Auction or BuyNow (instant purchase), however in some categories you are able to advertise your item using a classified ad. These types of listings enable multiple potential buyers to contact you.


What's different about a classified ad?

  • Previously, classified ads were only available in the following categories: Pets (excludes the Pet Supplies category), Aircraft, Businesses for Sale and Real Estate.
    • Now, when Editing or Listing an item, sellers will note the option to select the option of a 'Classified ad' category in many more categories.
    • For those categories where 'Classified ads' are now allowed, a separate field will appear to enable the selection of a 'Classified ad'. This field will only appear when 'Classified ads' are allowed for the selected category when Editing or Listing.
    • For the previously allowed 'Classified ad' categories, Editing or Listing will resume as normal.
  • You advertise the item with your asking price.
  • No bidding takes place and the item cannot be purchased instantly using BuyNow. Instead, potential buyers information will be sent to you and you can arrange for them to come and inspect/purchase the item. The transaction does not happen online.
  • Ratings cannot be left, since the transaction does not happen online.
  • The item page will display the following message...
    "Classified Ad - Please contact the seller directly. There's no bidding on Classified Ads"
  • You can advertise the item for 45 days.
  • You do not need to enter a Start Price, Bid Increment or Listing Duration.
  • An upfront listing fee to advertise the item applies, no sale fee applies.


How do I list a classified ad?

  • List an item and select a classified category, e.g. Pets > Dogs.
  • Enter your asking price in the BuyNow field.
  • There is no need to enter a Start Price, Bid Increment or select a Duration.
  • Fill out the other details as normal.
  • The Classified listing fee will be deducted from your quicksales account.


How do I manage a classified ad?

  • Classified ads are listed until sold if 'Auto-Relist' is selected, so you will need to end your ad once you have sold the item.
  • To end your ad, go to My quicksales > My Selling > Selling and select 'End it now' from the 'Action' link.

 

Lost Pets

You can use a classified ad to provide details of your lost pet. Users can then contact you if they have information on your lost pet. If you want to offer a reward, you can add details to your description (optional).

Note: The 'Asking Price' field must still be filled when listing a lost pet; you can enter any amount here - it will not be used as the sale price, as there is nothing for sale.
