Your favourite type of Lipstick ?
What do you use ? Have you tried the long lasting lipsticks that supposedly last all day and do you find they stay on for that long ?
Do you use lip-gloss ? I've tried but I don't think it suits me , maybe it's more for younger people
I keep my lipsticks in the fridge , it makes them much easier to apply.
Share your lipstick tips with us ......

If I mentiond every lipstick i loved i would be here all day LOL..
There are some very good ones out there. Some people just tend to 'eat' off their lipstick no matter how good a logn staying one it is.
A good tip for longevity of your lippy is, use a lipliner and shade in the lips if you want, put a coat of lippy on and bite a tissue then another coat.
Another tip is when doing your foundation go over your lips too, it acts as a good base ( although can slightly change the colour of your lippy.
I all honestly and just my opinion of course the stay on ones ie colorstay etc are far too dry for me and they cake up ( may not for others )
I am trialling a new avon one thats being launched in a few weeks ( my mums a rep ) and its REALLY nice!! and has a funky square edge to it too, rich colours and good staying power too.

I'd love to be able to try A.on again as I'm allergic to a lot of their make up so a bit hesitant to try . One of my long lasting lispstick is a deep burgandy , but it does where off leaving edges . Not a good look !

The ones im triaaling from avon are mega somethign or rather.. ( will ask my mum when i talk to her next ) they remind me of old fashioned lipstick , the smell, the way it feels on my lips and the beautiful colours and the way it lasts too.
Havign said all that not all lipsticks will stay on, they simply cant without tattooing them on LOL... its not about them being a good or bad one just whats good for you.
Smoking of course has a lot to do with how well one stays on you too.
As far as gloss goes, sometimes when im going for a less made up look ( hanging at home or gym etc ) i use my lipliner then press my lips to soften the line then lipgloss. Lip gloss and higher moisturising lipsticks are less likely to stay on longer than others.
Personally i find frosted ones have staying power more generally but again like i said bvefore we are all different.

Hey also a lot of people think that expensive = better...
I am almost ashamed to say i have over 50 lipsticks ( yes i love makeup!! ) lol
I trial many brands and get asked about many of them from high end to cheaper..
Two of the cheaper brands that IO have shades in is Constance carrol ( often found in chemists ) really nice lippies and long lasting too ( on me anyways )
and the priceline own brand of " savvy " ( made by designer brands )
Avon also is what i would consider price wise as inexpensive ( specially when on sale which seems to me a lot of the time ) and the quality really good of a lof of the different ones too, even more so this one im using right now, its exquisite and it reminds me of the good old fashioned ones of helena rubenstein and max factor of yesteryear ( the first two major marketers of good lipsticks ) very nice!!

Some time ago people were allowed to have a grey ID, with no link, then Admin decided to stop people changing back and forth, and they put a time line after which it became fixed. However, I have heard that some people contact Admin direct and are able to get it changed. Once it is changed you lose the grey ID. Even if you cannot get it changed, I don't know if you will, still put your real ID in grey writing so that people will know who you are, they may contact you or may not.
You can see who I am by the link to me and you can see how long I have been here, what I sell and what my rating is etc.

I have been with Oztion since their first year online and the original owners ( obviously not under this id though ) there have been amny changes although I havent participated in the boards a lot here and sadly due to the moderator system i wont hang a lot in here either ( at a guess many others wont and feel the same way towards the member moderator system too )
I hope it improves, Oztion would be a far better place and as said previously that community boards and good ones at that are integral to such sites as oztion etc, sadly due to their lack of staff though they need member moderators and it simply does not work, its unproffessional and often very biased where as if oztion themselves were moderating it would be purely professional and unbiased ( one would like to think )
Still cant paste my name so its blue though LOL
Wonder if it has anythign to do with my settings on my pc? No biggy but am curious haha!

Hmmm what brand sharpener are you using?
Manicare one is great, other than that i would suggest a very good and sharp paring knife? although you would waste a lot of product on that too. Sadly too some pencils just dont sharpen well due to the wood they use in them and often its not the sharpener but the pencil itself.

Being on topic.
Lipstick type, the old lipstick in the tube is the winner for me, mine doesnt seem to wear off.
Estee Lauder makes a nice long last one with color in one end, and gloss in the other, i wore it to a function and didn't have to touch it up at all.
My fave brand is Dior, and i find the color is more true in the better brands, and the pigments are good.
For lip balm, i like Lanolips, as its just lanolin.
I dont like lipsticks with a lot of fragrance.
My fave glosses currently for color is Lancome juicy tubes, as they have just the right amount of fragrance, and the right amount of sparkle.
Good lipstick starts with good lips.
THey need to be moisturized daily as lips dont have oil glands.
If they are flaky, they can be gently scrubbed with a face washer, or lip specific scrub, and follow with lip balm.
Lipstick doesnt look good on flaky dry lips.
You can put some concealer on your lips, and put a highlighter like Touch Eclat on the cupid bow.
For lip liner, you can either use a liner in a lip tone, or matching the lipstick.
TO sharpen the liner, use the one that came in the liner box, or if none, buy Revlon, or Manicare, they are steel, and designed specifically for makeup pencils. Keep the kids away from them, so they wont sharpen their color pencils in them.
I dont use a lip brush, as it takes a while, I just go straight from the tube. You can blot it with a tissue to remove excess color, and to avoid getting it on your teeth, put your finger into your mouth andclamp your lips on it. ANy lipstick will go onto your finger, not your teeth.
For gloss, put a small amount on the centre of the lips. Gloss will make the lips look more full. If you find gloss TOO sticky, use a cotton tip to remove the excess.

Good tips from the previous post. Agree to that often makeup etc is only as good as the skin that its going on to a certain extent too.
I just had a cleanout of my makeup and just also come across another sharpener which is excellent. Its the QVS brand that you find in kmart, big w etc, it has two holes for both sizes and also a plastic/rubbery type covering over the holes when you arent using them and catches all the shavings so no mess either, they sharpen really nice and doesnt bite at the wood when sharpening too, I had forgotten about this one when i got the manicare one in a gift basket and will go back to using the qvs. Agreed revlon one is good too.

A.....I am not here. So no one dob me in to the doc, OK? Please? LOL!
B. ....I can't read thru all the above posts (not lazy - eye pain)....
so sorry if repeating.
C....I don't wear make-up often, but liked the idea of long-lasting lippies. But so far, ALL I have tried are
way, way too dry
, and if I have to keep adding the glossy stuff all day - I may as well just USE a (cheaper) glossy one!
D....I found a
Revlon
, "real" lipstick, in a gold coloured, twist-up case, ages ago, cost about $50 (do NOT tell hubby - LOL!) - no idea now of the colour.....but it lasted me about 3 years (OK - so I don't wear much make-up and this is probably a make-up no-no to keep them that long).....but it was THE BEST lippie I ever owned.
E......if I ever rob a bank - before I am taken off to jail, I am gonna buy myself another one - ROFL !!

Hi,
I have found one of the best ways to get lipstick to stay on is to first fill the lips in with a neutral or light coloured lipliner and then apply your lipstick. I find this works really well and my lipstick tends to stay on for hours, even when drinking.
As for favourite lipsticks, I am still using a lot of my old Neutrimetics ones that I bought a few years ago. I have a couple of Avon ones as well, but one is so old that they don't make the colour anymore and I am dreading it running out. It is nearly 5 years old and still as new as ever, so I think they produce really good lipsticks for such a low price. I bought an expensive brand last year and it has gone chalky and hard already.
Cheers, Ang.
