vshop or not to vshop
is it worthwhile having a vshop, I currently have 146 listings here, I have not had a single sale since I came back to QS, maybe if I opened a shop it might be better??

A vShop IMO would make no difference . In fact many buyers don't even look at vShops and go directly to the members ID to see their items.

Lack of sales depends on many things .

I don't think I've ever gone looking at v-shops unless I get the message that a favourite member is having a v-shop sale.
I look at their id and browse from there.

I and a lot of others do just fine without a v-shop but others swear by them.

One thought that comes to mind is your name.  It would imply that you may only sell pet products or needs which account for around one fifth of your items for sale.  I know my name doesn't represent what I sell its a make up of hubs id from that place and mine so that when I came over old customers recognised me.  But some sellers have their name representing what they sell.

I suppose that by having a vshop it organises everything into neet little categories.

are you able to have more than one ID under the same email?
Replied by brerrabbit on 23-Feb-2012 16:32 (Ref 2333478) Report
I think you have to have different emails for each ID.  You can always set up a second email address with gmail or someone like that if you only have one.

I wouldn't bother opening a shop for 146 listings.  Unless they're all very similar items they'll show up in different categories anyway and buyers can click on the categories they want to look at when they click on your Other Items.

I wouldn't have a vshop for less than at least 300 listings, unless they nearly all show up in the same category under the site's standard categories.  Even with a slow computer it doesn't take long to look through 146 listings and people may even see something they like that they weren't looking for.

Sometimes you just have to patient when it comes to starting out, or re-starting.  I don't think your username would make a scrap of difference but that's just my opinion.  Most people's usernames reflect them, not their products.  Note I said most, not all.  I definitely don't sell rabbits OR carrots.

I suppose the good thing about QS compared to the other one that we cannot mention is the fact the to list something is free and also basic shop is only $5 after all, even if I dont sell anything without the shop its costing me nothing

 You can mention eBay here

Seperate valid email addies for different ID's.

Just like on eBay , you can have buying or selling accounts or both or  for personal stuff etc ( but you can't make it private)

I am currently getting a logo and banner made here on QS to open a store.
I have had them over the years, but when items get down just go to normal.
Now I seem to be getting more items that will hopefully be better for the customer if i sort them out into the right categories.
They seem to be a bit messy. and will be easier for the customer not to have to troll through stuff they don't want.
Can only try, and as it's only $5 , well worth it.

I average between 600 and 700 items for sale and I've never had a v-shop.

My name has nothing at all to do with what I sell

lol, looking at your name I would have to wonder about what you sold.

Having that many items, do you get many sales on here, I have over 30'000 items I can list

If you want to check anyone's sales for the last 90 days, click on their username, then on Items Sold down the left side, under Member's Buying & Selling.  That's how we know that you've sold 7 items but never got any feedback for them (or left any).

yes I sold them 7 items a long time ago and have just come back here.

Legend. Atleast someone here can carry out a request. Ide write more but i just got sidetracked on a funny bible quote website. Thought this was a doozy actually...
Exodus 2:11-12 One day, after Moses had grown up,he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.Looking this way and that and seeing no one,he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
Thought it most appropriate actually all at the same time amusing

thats really tricky, but can you click on your own item while you are logged in and send yourself emails when you are bored from no sales?
Thats when you know its time to stop asking yourself stupid questions!

 Hi Guys
Not sure about 146 items but for me with over 2000 i find the $5 per month worth every cent!
I can find things i want so much quicker and occasionally( when the mood inspires me) i can sort and tidy. Good luck to beallieblue!
Cheers Sylvia

lol @ scorched peanut.  Do you seriously think you were the only one listing/unlisting at that time, so only YOUR drop in items would be reflected, and no other sellers increase in items noted?
