VIRUS SCANNER UPDATED TO YAHOO SEARCH
My Virus scanner has done a bit of automatic updating lately and has now given me Yahoo Secure Search instead of Google.
I really don't like Yahoo search as it appears to be extremely limited to me.
How do I get Google back without wrecking my computer or cutting myself off the internet completely.
Thanking you in advance.........

You might be able to pull up your virus program and see if you can untick the Yahoo search toolbar .
Or in your
start - control panel - programs > yahoo search bar ( or similar) and remove it.
It's most annoying when programs piggy back other installations you don't know about unless you do a "Custom install" that's when you get the opportunity to untick any 'extras'
A lot of programs do this now , I find it very intrusive but at least a custom install will show what's been installed .

ohh yes I hate that. one that updates always has... include Norton..noooo I don't want Norton. so i have to untick that. another is incredimail, it wants me to have it as my toolbar...noooo.lol.
I had a hard time getting Google back as my search engine. I don't know how I finally done it, but I have. Good luck.

Thank you for your replies.
Looks like I will have a few hours of fiddling and frustration to perhaps get Google back or maybe mess it up completely and have to ring the Son In Law - LOL !

It won't take that long
You could always just download the Google Toolbar again and make it your default search engine and then when your ready find the offending Yahoo search engine and give it the boot.
Mind you I spend hours trying to get rid of Bing , and have since found out that it's 'supposedly' giving better results then Google does now. Still have to test that theory but seeing it took me so long to get rid of it I'm not in a hurry to get it back.
