Unlocking an Optus prepaid LG KP500 Mobile Phone
Hi,
Granddaughter today purchased a LG KP500 which is a Optus Prepaid.
She wants to be able to use her Telstra prepaid, all her teenage gumf is on her telstra sim.
We rang Optus but they said she has to wait 6 months................. lifetime to a 16 year old.
If anyone can help I will be eternally grateful........ heavy sighs and long faces are very depressing.................

usually once you recharge with $80, they will unlock it for you.
you can take it to a private repairer that can ulock it for you

I have already told her that ...bt, she doesn't want to pay another $80.00.

Hi,
$80 is the only way to get it changed to Telstra.
If she only purchased it today could she possibly take it back for a refund or exchange on a Telstra one???

how often does she recharge? that isnt an extra fee, once you have used $80 worth in recharges, they will unlock it

Thank you, Kate purchased it today from Big W out of their catalogue.....
I don't know if they will refund her on it but, I will take her down tomorrow and see how we go.

Hi Hibiscus-surf,
I realize that it's not an extra charge but, Kate wants to use her recharge money on her Telstra sim card....
I would have thought it would be just as easy to put all her contacts onto the optus one and use that....... but then I'm not 16 yrs old.
