tv PAL
need a bit of help here.
been give a tv for the shed tried to connect vhs but couldn't
on the screen PAL shows up would this affect setting up vcr.
i did have to get a universal remote control as the original
one was broken.
tv works fine,otherwise

PAL is the operating system in Australia for both TV and VHS systems so this is not an issue.

Have you got all cables connected properly - including the aerial cable from vhs to tv - I do know that the vhs will not work without one from prior experience even if you aren't connecting the tv for tv reception.

if you can get a picture on the tv without the video then when you connect the video you might not have the cables in the correct holes.

have check all cables etc,all in correct postion

If cables are all set up correctly it may just be that you need to find how to playback on the TV. It may be through switching tv to AV or with some tv's finding the channel they play back through e.g. a tv channel that is not used for general broadcast.

Put a video in and play it whilst switching channels.
