Tips on cameras
Hello everybody, like the header says I am looking for tips on cameras. I am hoping my husband  will give me a new digital one for my b'day. The last cameras we have had were all Canons. Thought I would look outside the box this time. I want a simple one that is not to big, so no big lenses

So what do you have and what are the pros and cons?

Hi Miranda,   I went outside the box at Christmas time and bought a Nikon Coolpix S8100.
12.1 Mega-pixels  10x wide optical zoom.  I normally read intruction books from cover to cover but with this one I have not even opened the book.  The sales person demonstrated it and I left the shop and went and took flood photos. No problems at all.
It is the easiest to use camera I have ever owned.  I love it.

I used to love my Kodak until I bought a Panasonic Lumix.
28 mm wide angle.. 10 x optical zoom. so easy to use.I too have not needed to look at the instruction manual for it yet. I mostly use it on the same setting iA..auto.. I mostly use it for my Quicksales pics.
It was fantastic on our last holiday. I took some great pics with it.
The rechargeable battery last a long time too much better then the recharge batteries in my Kodak.

Get one with a proper viewfinder.  Relying on LCD's alone can be a real pain in the sun.
