Telstra major prob
Just read this article in the Herald sun. Telstra customers may be interested.Also,  If anyone is  trying to email me at the moment, our server is not working properly, could also be beacuse of the issue in the article too.

I have lost my email aswell.  I have just spent an hour getting through to a telstra to be told it could be a few more hours.
I am just glad it is nothing wrong with just my computer.

Yep, started around 7pm and still no emails!  I still have internet access and found this on their website....

Yep...same here -no email and no access to my account .
Thankfully the internet is still up and running ....for now !

When I 'phoned them ( around 6pm (QLD) time ) they said that they'd send me a text message once the problem was fixed.

It's now 11.01pm ...and still no text.

Have only just been able to reconnect after six days of no service whatsoever, and now the Bigpond mail is down. Many pockets right around the country have been experiencing major problems with cable and ADSL connections, seems particularly in over populated areas with basic services. They are rolling out something known as tophat www.telstra.com.au/misc/tophat/ which is an upgrade to ADSL 2.

We dropped out for 5 days last week, bigpond/telstra said they would text when it was fixed and we are still waiting, obviously our internet is back on but their customer service suks.
We also have a silent number and in the past 24-48 hours have suddenly started receiving telemarketer calls, maybe this is the reason why, thank you for posting

 no emails here either since yesterday - but thank god for paypal - as sales are still happening - and I can get information on them.  Just have to keep checking it everynow and then.

I think you all might be missing the point about why the whole email system is down.
If you have bundled Telstra services, Foxtel / Phone / Mobile / Internet (you don't need to have them all bundled)
Telstra made bundled customers private account details, PUBLIC.

This includes not only your name, address & date of birth, but also your passwords to access your email accounts.
It was discovered by a member on 'Whirlpool' who went Googling for Telstra bundles and discovered the private database being stored on the internet. If you keep any confirmation emails stored in your account that state your user names and passwords to various accounts, you need to change ALL your passwords.

It is nearing 10am QLD time and i am still not getting emails.
After 6 years of being with another company we have only just gone back to Telsta , i was so hesitant for these reasons and now am wishing i hadnt but nothing i can do about it for 2 yrs.
The email side of it doesnt worry me a lot as i use yahoo as is so much more reliable. I did have bigpond years and years ago and it was useless then.
I am thankful the internet side of it is okay but i really hope they get there issues sorted ,
we where actually told just recently that there service is SO much more reliable and efficient.
BUT i guess things happen, i just find it annoying when you pay for a service that you do not get, plus Telstra promise SO much and seem to always fail to deliver, hope i am wrong.

Hi . Same here on Sunny Coast . Internet access yes but could not get into my Inbox until about 4pm Qid time today. And I'm on Wireless because of where we live. Unfortunately Telstra is the only option for us. But before finally getting connected with Telstra you should have seen the fun and games we had with Optus. Just Awful . Promised everything and delivered nothing. Never again , I promised myself. Had to be connected to three severs before Telstra was able to take over.
