Suggestion for Temando
I have just been through the incredibly frustrating process of booking a parcel through Temando. And this suggestion is for Temando to make some improvements to their booking form.
When you make the booking, if you choose 'satchel' as your parcel type and you don't put in any dimensions, just the weight, then you cannot proceed with the booking. You must also in some the dimensions BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE THOSE OF THE SATCHEL.
I just did a booking for a parcel that will use one of AAEs huge satchels, and from memory, thought I only had to choose 'satchel' as parcel type and include the weight. I couldn't proceed with the booking. Using another member's suggestion, I used the dimensions 10 x 10 x 10 and the booking went ahead. Now this requirement is certainly not obvious.
Perhaps the booking form needs to include a note that even if satchels are chosen, then some minimum dimensions must be included. Or perhaps if 'satchel' is chosen, the boxes for the dimensions are automatically filled in. The way it is now makes no sense whatsoever. And unless you use Temando often, then it is hard to remember that this is the process to be followed.

I've never found it at all confusing, particularly as Temanso staff have (and continue to) actively participate in discussions about their service. Glad you got it sorted, but all I can say is you must be easily frustrated.

Hi,
I also am feeling a bit, not so much frustrated but feel as though I'm "intruding " on my buyers privacy.
As I'm also booking a parcel through with Temando.
In doing so it is requested that I put in an email address and phone number of my buyer, which I don't have free access to without asking the buyer directly.
I feel uncomfortable emailing my buyer and asking for these details, before I can book the item through with Temando.
I love Temando and will continue to use their services but having to email my buyer for personal details is just going against the grain a bit with me.
I realise perhaps Temando have their reasons for doing this but I still don't feel comfortable about having to contact my buyer and ask for that information before I can proceed with sending the item. I don't want to send by AP as it's more expensive for my buyer.

- I didn't have to supply an email address or phone number before I made the booking. This information - or at least the phone number part (email address wasn't required to make the booking at all. In fact, once the item was sold and I went to the Sold page to make the booking, the buyers address details and phone number were already there. How are youy trying to make the booking?

No I am not easily frustrated, but a system such as the one used by Temando for booking a parcel should not be this difficult. Perhaps you have used Temnando extensively and are now aware of all the little quirks? But how many people who are not familiar with the system and are trying to make a booking using one of the AAE satchels would instictively know that (a) dimensions must be entered for it to work and (b) the dimensions can be anything you like? I am not sure if this is the case, but in another thread someone mentioned that if you use the actual satchel dimensions, the quote comes out much higher and therefore puts people off using the courier service.
And what about the other quirk that has caught me out? That of one of the road carriers (the only ones you can use for certain goods) that requires that you enrol yourself as a business, even if you are not, for their name to come up as a choice of carriers?
I am sure that if the Temando booking system was a little better thought through, then they would gain more customers from here.
Finally, I know that the Temando staff can be very helpful, but they weren't available last night at 11pm when the situation arose that resulted in me asking on here for help. As it turned out, no-one else who could have helped was awake either.

I think because I assumed that the delivery of the item would be unattended which is what I ticked on the form, these features have been enabled with Temando as I haven't come across this before. Maybe I should go back and tick delivery will be attended, and see if it makes any difference??

I've heard about the courtesy of Temando from a lot of other people on the forum but I emailed them nearly a week ago about a subject and still haven't heard from them!

Hi
magnolia134
The email and phone no. boxes to be filled in with buyers information was on Temando's Website I logged in there instead of doing the booking via quicksales. I couldn't find the Temando page to do the booking from quicksales at first so I went to their site but after reading what you said about going to >sold items and doing the booking through that way I found what I was looking for in the first place.
Thank You for that infomation I'd still be floundering around trying to work it out.
All good now all booked :) Thank You!!
Cheers.

I've just made a booking for Temando and I can't remember where to look to find when they give a date when they will arrive. Is it on the site somewhere?
Thanks

when they will arrive
Could you be a little more precise with your question .....
Which "they" are you referring to ?
The "they" that come & pick up the satchel, or the "they" that are the items themselves ....?

I have just sent my first parcel by AAE using temando today ( just picked up) so thanks for this thread as it helped with knowing how to fill out the form with the dimentions correctly as I too have previously put in the actual measurements and got a quote way over so hadn't perservered. I contacted them re: insurance today as well as the form said I wasn't covered & I thought I had selected it. They contacted me back within a few mins after asking a question by email to say yes I was covered so if anyone else selects insurance and it doesn't say you are insured on the form you print out then it's Ok you are...so I am really pleased so far with their service.
