HI i have never had morning sickness with my four children, but my best friend vomited with her first two for the entire 9 months morning noon and night. With her third child after 4 months of the same constant vomiting her doctor started to give her vitamin b injections which worked so maybe worth a try. Also Ginger beer in sips helped her as well. I hope she gets better.

Oh dear, your poor daughter, theres nothing worse than being sick. I never had morning sickness when pregnant but I've heard drinking hot water with some grated ginger can help with  nausea.

Oh, the poor chicken ... I remember feeling like that with mine, and I found that as long as I had something on my tummy I was ok, but couldn't stomach anything that smelt remotely like food - I lived on coco pops and plain potato chips ... they were quick to get, didn't smell and actually put a lining on the tummy to help with the feeling sick.

Perhaps it's worth a try for your daughter?

Hopefully she feels better soon and the rest of her pregnancy is more enjoyable ....

Cheers

Has she had her urine tested for ketones? Sounds like she's severely dehydrated or will be if she keeps vomiting so much.
I was admitted to hospital at 10 weeks because I couldn't keep water down either and had ketones in my urine. I was kept on a drip for 6 days, the maxalon made me worse, Vitaman B tablets didn't help either.

I hope she feels better soon.  I kept a box of saladas next to my bed and as soon as I woke up, before setting foot on the floor, I'd eat a piece. Helped me a bit.

I had it with my 2nd baby ... all day & night for 9 months straight ...

The only thing that could ease it (not stop it) was Saladas and soda water - the fizzy in the soda water made me feel better.

I could not stomach anything else ... I have no idea why I pt on 30kg when all i did was vomit

I ended up drinking and eating things that I didn't mind throwing up as much.

Lemonade is pretty harmless on the way up again, as opposed to something like milk., grated apple isn't to bad coming back up.
My theory was, hopefully not all of it would come back up.

Eventually McDonald's Cheese Burgers would make me feel better.

I have 4 girls and with all pregnancies had morning sickness most of the way through.
The dry bickies thing and wearing accupressure bands helped somewhat, never took the vomiting feeling away but minimised it a little bit .
I also would drink a 'Berocca' each day as doctor said they have been said to help due to the vitamin b. It did settle my tummy a bit.
I found nothing took it away completely, the best thing for me was the maxolon tablets, which also didnt take the feeling away but it did stop me throwing up.
After 12 weeks it does get better and should ease and for some goes completely, at 10 weeks the hormones are going crazy which is what is said to cause it. Hopefully she is one of the lucky ones that it passes after the first trimester!

I tried everything and still spent the entire 9 months throwing up. And eating stuff that comes up easily is a very good tip.

I had a weird craving for PK yellow chewing gum so it may have been that the mint actually helped to settle my stomach so worth a try. At least it' s not something she'll have to throw up again. I ate heaps of it daily.

The other thing I found was that I really craved things like mashed potato and pumpkin and soups. I always hated soup but suddenly it was all I wanted to eat. Actually I hated chewing gum even as a kid. I was told the veg and soup was my body trying to take in what it needed so maybe the mint was something it needed too?

I was told I was probably pregnant with twins for the first one as the amount of vomiting is apparently one of the first signs. Plus there is the good side of it where morning sickness is meant to be a sign the pregnancy is establishing itself so you're less likely to miscarry.

Oh and suck on ice or even something like Zooper Doopers. Is a good way to keep the liquid up.

Is a horrible way to do pregnancy. Especially when you have friends who are all super healthy glowing.

erk, been there done that.  nope, I had a boy!  After 3 months it started to settle down a bit, and I couldn't keep anything down, not even water, which was a bit of a concern.  but eventually I was able to keep small amounts of grated apple down. and that's all.  one has to  wonder about the nutrition of the bub doesn't one?  She perhaps should check with the doc again incase she needs maxolon.  I can only sympatise with her and tell her it settles a bit after 12 weeks but I did have it all  the way through. no need to tell her that though.  :(  poor girl.

The best thing would be for her to go to a doctor. She could be severely dehydrated by now. I ended up in hospital because of my morning sickness. Doctor put me on Maxolon. One shot in the butt cheek before leaving the doctors office, and one tablet 4 times a day for the rest of my pregnancy, and 2 months after!

Hope she feels better soon.
I was in Bali when I first started getting morning sickness - that lasted most of the day.
Sipping a glass of crushed ice and paw paw juice made me feel heaps better.
The only food I could handle was rice with a mild vegetable curry sauce - no vegetables
More sauce the better.
And I had to have them quick. Take any longer than a few minutes and I'd be sick.
Only lasted 3 months.

I had boy and girl so doubt that was the problem.

Babies are like leeches. They take the good stuff out of your system so even though you're heaving and feeling like death usually the baby is hugely healthy. After nine months of throwing up and catching every virus in town, plus developing weird allergies and infected teeth I managed to produce around 8lb babies.

Hi im currently pregnant with my 4th and am the same, was in hosp on a drip last week, tried maxalon and that didnt help so the hosp gave me a script for Zofran which isnt working a miracle but helps a bit, though at nearly $10 a tablet  it is VERY expensive.  It doesnt help having 3 little ones to look after!  I hope she gets better soon, let me know if anything works for her that I could try!!!  Wish her  luck !

:)   Just an update....Harmonie was given tablets that they usually give  to cancer patients....but they also found out there is something wrong with her thyroid and that is what is making her so sick.....so she is back up to Redcliffe Hospital again....but all they keep doing is placing her on a drip for 2 hours and then sending her home.....it is getting ridiculous to be going up there every few days.....they know what thyroid medication to give her but won't fill the script until she goes for her first ante-natal visit...which isn't for another 3 weeks......she is so fed up with being sick....and i feel helpless as i can't be there for her as much as i want as i have a new bub and a toddler to contend with....sorry just wanted to vent abit....
