sellers please respond to queries
if you want to sell your items on this site or any sites , then you need to at least answer any questions or queries.
this does not relate to any dispute. it is just an observation.

I agree with your statement.. Many sellers on here do the right thing and answer quickly...some take up to 3 days. By that time I have bought from somebody else
If anybody contacts me I answer them within the hour....or within a few hours at most.
I realise people work full time....but if you are selling online, a quick check of your emails every few hours is all that is needed

Hello Bargan
I totally agree somewhat
There could be a number of reasons for a seller not to answer like their computer has broken down or they are unwell or they just could not be bothered I guess
I wrote to a seller on the 28th May enquiring about an item and I still have not heard back
I was so looking forward to hearing from them as I would of spent my whole gift voucher with them

As I work full time I try and answer emails before I leave for work and then on return from work and throughout the night. I have sent emails to some sellers but never get a response back so I guess at the end of the day they lose my sale and I move on and buy from someone else. Its shame because if I get to the point of actually sending an email to a seller then I am quite interested in there item and just need a bit more detail before committing to buying the item.

It makes you think if they cant be bothered to answer a question they may not bother to post your item. Marian

Sometimes it is NOT possible for a seller to answer within a few hours and sometimes not for a few days.
I have had my pc in and out of the shop over the last month and its going back in tomorrow (have a backup pc this time) and have missed sales due to no access to answer questions and what makes it even more frustrating the answer to most questions are in the item descriptions that potential buyers neglect to even read.

This remains one of my biggest issues. Almost every question I have received lately is clearly answered somewhere in the listing. However, I politely answer all questions received in a timely manner, regardless. But it never ceases to amaze me the questions I am asked. As I said recently in another thread, I am convinced most buyers do not look beyond the title and the photos. So much for those people who practically write a novel for their TOS - I can guarantee most of it won't be read by buyers. So the secret to successful sales (1) put as much info in the title as possible and (2) display really good clear photos.

Depending on where you work some sellers are not allowed to go to certain site. They can't log on on their work computer.
So some sellers may not be able to answer you question till they get home from work.

Nobody is saying that a seller should be using their employers computer
They can get online via their iPhones, or other mobile devices. Or as one seller suggested, do it before work and when you get home
There is NO excuse to have your buyers waiting longer than 24hours. unless of course their is an emergency or illness.

I would love to get some questions so I could get a sale.
I don't care if they ask the same question 42 times - I will answer - and am usually falling all over myself to get there quick enough.

100% agree with this it is really annoying and yes makes me buy elsewhere..Sometimes things happen beyond our control thats life
Same with Make an offer either accept, decline or counter offer dont make the buyers wait upto 72 hours.
I have to say though of late i have had some absoloutely exemplary(sp) sellers who have gone out of their way to help with enquires so a big thumbs up to them :-)

As one of those sellers replied to me once, after a couple of weeks mind you, that she only comes back here when she gets an email saying she has sold something.
When I replied that if she came back to answer questions she might make more sales I received no further communication.

Agree that some take for ever to answer quieres and then wonder why they are not making any sales.
You would be surprises how many do use employers computers. That is why many companies block ebay, quicksales, facebook etc, etc. You can't even open the pages.
pasmina I'm one of those that don't have one of those phones or mobile devises. And those things are a whole new topic.

I agree that sellers need to answer questions. The only thing is that if I get questions send to my personal email in stead through QS I do not always see them. And I sometimes get to much carp in there about viagra etc that if I do not recognise the name I throw it out straight away. So buyers and sellers alike answer through QS.
I think most of us do not stress about waiting a day or so for a reply but if it is more than 48 hours, well I rarely buy of them than. Unless they have a reason which they mostly give. If you are away put yourself away. If you sell than do it well. If people want to give you their hard earned cash in thrust (as that is what they do), you have to threat them like a costumer that is in a shop and you are working there. Even if you just have a few things for sale and are a hobby seller.
