screen shot?
Hi
I think it's called a screen shot?
I want to get a copy of EXACTLY what is on my screen- and I have zero idea how to do this

if someone could help & explain as if I was a 80 year old ( not a 10 year old- as they'd probably know- ha ha )
I am not computer savvy-  I need to copy a few things and need the entire page copied etc
this is difficult when there's something open etc

thanks in advance for your help
cheers :-)

There should be a key that says 'print screen', press that and whatever is on the screen at that moment is copied to the clipboard, you can then go to your PAINT' programme which can be found in your start menu, accessories and paste it in there then save it to wherever you want. Be aware however that it will only capture what you can see, if there is more on the screen that requires scrolling up or down it will not capture it

Hi

This is how I do it ...

I open a new page on Word (I think you may be able to do the same with Paint), then minimise it.

Go to the page you want to take a 'shot' of - press the Prt Scr button on your keyboard - mine is next to the F12 key.

Maximise Word again and press Ctrl V (or right mouse click and paste). The shot ahould now be in your Word document.

I use the 'Alt' key and press Print Screen.
Then I open Irfan - it comes up with a black screen.
Then press Control V and it pastes into Irfan.
Save or save as whatever you want to call it.
This all depends if you have Irfan loaded :)

Hobals
Are you using windows 7?
If so there is a tool in accessories for exactly that
Its called 'snipping' and saves in the same program.
Sooo easy to use
Let me know if you need any help
Happy New Year

Hi , once you master the Windows screen print , you might want to try a more fancy screen print tool that can enable you to nominate an area to save in a few file formats

I did it :-) yeah
but it's REALLY SMALL on the page (  headache from sofa- still a mess)

can I make it bigger?
without having to change the 100% to 200% type of thing after opening the page?

I've got to copy a screen to print it for legal reasons - to prove something - so this is important it takes up the full page etc :-)
and can be read

will this copy  - example: if I open an email and oopen the options- there's

cheers:-)

The screenshot will be the resolution that your monitor is set to, e.g. 1024x768, 1440x900.
For a 1024x768 resolution, this will give a graphic on paper that is 271mm x 203mm. Standard A4 paper is 210mm × 297mm.

I don't think that taking a screenshot of the WHOLE desktop is the way to go as you will lose a lot of detail especially when printing to A4 paper. If you want to show something in detail, then you should use a screenshooting tool such as the one rogue suggested. That way you can take a shot of just the window containing the information you need to show. Some of these screenshooting tools also allow you to take shots of a web page. I'm just unsure what you are trying to show (I don't want to know what the stuff is you are trying to show, just trying to get an idea what you are trying to do)

Cheers
