Scheduled items in newly listed?
Hi, does anyone know if you schedule items to start at a later time (through EL in my case), do they still show in newly listed items on the front page when they actually go live?

They show in your listings straight away as not yet started, so I would think that they would show in newly listred as soon as they are uploaded or saved, but that is just an educated guess.

Quicksales member dezirable-books,
The short answer is yes.

Members need to keep in mind that the Just Listed panel on the Home Page is the last 100 items listed, updated every minute.
If there are a lot of items being listed at the time you select, your items may only appear for that one minute update.

Thanks moderator, so YES, the items do show on the front page when they go live, NOT when you upload them to your selling items as scheduled items.

Actually, I think the mod is probably wrong on this.  When you list something it shows up at the top of newly listed in its specific category, regardless of whether it's scheduled or not.  I can't see the front page (site's main page) being any different.

Best way is to try and it and see - but not when someone is doing 1000 jewellery listings or 20,000 book listings.

EL may be different - haven't got a clue how it works!

I've tried looking, but with over 706,473 listings now, and a good percentage of those being bulk listings, it's hard to see your items in newly listed at all when you only list a few at a time.  Things should settle down shortly and I'll try looking again.
But it's really good seeing all the bulk listings arriving though.

All along I've said more items = more lookers = more possibility of a sale.

I've just seen some items in the "just newly listed " page on the Home Page and it shows this on the listing

Item has not yet started selling

So I guess that means that scheduled items DO show on the front page

Thanks issabella, that appears to be in conflict with the mods information then.  The result should be the same whether EL or manually listed I'd presume.

I experimented this morning and listed one item to start straight away and three more that were scheduled - all done within a few seconds of each other.

The one that started straight away showed on the home page but not the scheduled items.  One of the scheduled items was due to start at 12.00 but it didn't show on the home page then either, so it never showed on the home page at all.  At neither time was the home page 'busy' so it wasn't a case of blinking and missing it.

I'll have another go one day and see what happens.

I can't get an scheduled item to show in 'just listed' either  but I noticed there's a lot of items being listed by the one seller so maybe it showed and left already

I wonder why the listings I saw had 'not started selling yet ' on them ? You could not click on the Buy Now icon either .

Could they be items doing the round when a seller is set to 'away' ?

Anything with "this item has not started selling yet" on it will be a scheduled item.  The Buy Now button doesn't show until they've started selling.

If anyone wants to buy one of these items, I'm told you can put in your wishlist if it's a vshop item, then you can buy from there.  Not sure if it's true or not.

'Away' items won't show, especially not in newly listed.  If you're set to away and you list an item, it will show up as normal and won't be hidden like the rest of the seller's items.

Good morning quicksales members,

This matter intrigued me also and I asked a question of the Technical Director and Site Producer.
The following is the reply:

My question is:
When I upload a scheduled item, does the item appear in the newly listed items at time of upload?
Or does it appear when the listing goes live?
Scheduled items appear in just listed only when they go live.
Is there a variation of this between the on-site lister & EL?
No, both are treated equally.

This confirms the information provided in the Forum Moderator's previous post.

Kind regards
The Midnight Mod

Thanks again moderator.   I listed 3 items yesterday and scheduled one of them only, then raced to the newly listed and yes, the 2 that weren't scheduled showed there, but the scheduled one didn't, however I wasn't around to look in newly listed at the time the last item was due to go live.

However, that doesn't explain why some members have seen Item has not started selling yet on items in newly listed?

Darn , I wish I'd copied the listing numbers now but didn't think I'd be able to post it at the time ( forum rules) It was a bead seller and there was most definately items that had not started selling the first page of "Just listed"
