PVR's
Anybody using one and if so are you happy with it. I'm still using a VCR but am thinking of getting a PVR so that I can record the digital channels. I've read that some PVR's have issues with firmware.

What is your experience?

Yes I have one I love it.
I got mine from catchoftheday it has 1T hard drive I can also use a USB stick to view movies or funny clips from my PC. I know if I had of bought a "Dongle" but as far as I know it had to be the one sold as an optional extra I could of gotten the internet through it too.
now I also have a 2nd PVR STB on my other TV but that one I can only record to a USB stick and it won't hold as much as the same stick does when used on the PC.
so...if you buy one try and get a twin tuner with at least a 1 Terrabit hard drive.
with the twin tuner you can record one chanel while watching another. with mine I can only watch the side I record or record while tv is off. you can also program it to record. very easy to do.

Hi blacky,

I have an Astone AP-360T PVR and like you mentioned heaps of trouble with firmware issues...don't bother with this brand.

I think there are some good brands out there not sure what to recommend at the moment, they are worth having though.

That's what I have too.. an Astone AP-360T PVR. the only problem we have had is sometimes it will freeze but not often, we just turn it off then back on.. all is good.
