Hi
You can dampen a tissue and softly wipe the ink head's untill you see a ink smudge.
Will work  most time's.

Thank you for that I will give it a try if it is possible to reach the heads without taking it apart.

Have you tried the cleaning method from Brother?

 Hi there,
If you ring or email Brother, they will give you a special sequence to use to deep clean the heads, as used by the maintenance people.  When I bought a new Brother printer for my daughter, it was the display one, and had huge problems with the heads being blocked.  They emailed me how to fix it.  Be warned though, it does use a lot of ink, an I had to go through the routine a number of times, but better than a printer that doesnt work I guess.
Cheers
Jen
