Postage instructions/refund policy won't show on listing
I am close to despair. I have set myself for a week of listing and have clothes photographed and am all set to go.

I have spent several hours this afternoon installing and uninstalling Express lister, along with installing the other bit of software suggested by admin in one of the EL threads. I still can't get it to work (and yes, I have completely switched off the pc and restarted it and have also cleared cookies, cache and forms from the browser history).

I have an ongoing issue with extra spaces appearing in the listings, although this only showed in Firefox not Chrome.

I have also wasted hours trying to update my Payment Details. Despite clicking on 'apply to all my listings' it did NOT apply the change to all listings.

The latest issue I have is that the Postage Instructions box does not appear on the listing. At all. Neither does refund policy. But I have finally managed to get the Payment Instructions to appear.

Instead of Postage instructions I just have ads appearing.

I have run a complete computer scan with no results.

Anyone want to come to my house and fix all of this for me? Before I pack the whole lot up, computer included, and donate it to Lifeline.

Oh and to add to my tale of woe, my trusty digital scales have suddenly converted to imperial instead of metric. I have no idea how it happend and can not see how to reset it back.

I think the universe is trying to tell me something.

Looks like some code in your Payment Instructions is stopping everything that should appear underneath it.  Try redoing your Payment instructions in plain text instead of HTML.  I can't even see the Similar Items that should show on the bottom of your listings.

LOL, just one of those days!  OK, try a dummy listing with no HTML what so ever. Don't use a template or anything. I'm guessing everything should show up correctly then.  I mainly use IE and with just one of the listings I looked at, everything within the listing looked fine (a bit of a gap between the description & postage terms) but I too noticed, there is nothing under your payment & postage details.  So I really think it has to be a code problem.

I looked at 2 listings with IE and I couldn't get anything past the Payment and Postage Details to load.

If you have done your descriptions and postage instructions in a word document and copy and pasted to express lister this will also cause your problem.  I have found word is not compatable with express lister and you have to do everything in express lister.

If Word doesn't work, presumably due to all the embedded code, would Notepad?

That is pure text after all.

I know nothing about EL, but that's the way I put stuff in TL, and it works fine.

When I use EL I don't place anything in those fields ( if it keeps asking I stick a . in  . Once I have uploaded all required listings I go to "my Preferences" ( where I do have all relevant details , postage , terms , bank details etc) tick the required boxes and update . That way it shows on all new listings.

Maybe that will work ? I know you can no longer use any html in those areas , even using part typed and part copy/paste has thrown it off for me like leaving 1/2 a sentence off etc .

Thank you so much to everyone who has replied. Something to do with the coding makes sense. I will look at it again with fresh eyes in the morning. I'm so grateful for all the helpful people on here.

I had months of trouble with my postage instructions. I deleted everything and typed straight into the box online (no copy and paste) but it still wouldn't work.

Eventually admin told me there was hidden code in the box that I couldn't remove. They removed it and things started working again. I have tried not to touch it since. I leave that section blank when I'm creating a listing and use the bulk 'apply to all' as mentioned by someone earlier.

Looking at your listings with IE this morning, I can't even see the description

On closer inspection did you mean you were having trouble with the ozish Postage Calculator ?

On the latest few listing the Calculator shows then only an area to click not the actual ozish box  . It might be an issue with the  way the code was inserted into the Templates

You also have multiples of a few things , and some in the wrong category .

issabella, the Ozish calculator is not an issue. I know that is messed up on a couple and I have to fix it.

Yes I do have some multiples. These are correct. And I know one is in the wrong category - just another technology failure from yesterday but thanks for reminding me. i had not noted that on my long list of things I have to fix.

I have a feeling I have another long day ahead of me.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have fixed the Postage instructions issue.

Oh and I also reset the digital scales back to metric. I have no idea how I did it though :(

Hi Deb,
I had a look at your shop front html code in my IE and it looks as though some is missing, like the main >html > >head and >body tags, also couldn't see those with any closing tags either.
Your shop front banner isn't showing, neither is your >View our categories pictures <
also over on your menu list it doesn't look quiet right I could be wrong.

Have you changed the original shop front HTML or added anything new as it seems
HTML code isn't as it should be..??

If you are using Microsoft Word or similar for saving your html template codes, it will cause you problems.
The best HTML  Editor ever is Notepad as it gets rid of any text rubbish and leaves you clean text only.
Sorry I don't use EL as I don't have hundreds or thousands listings.
Hope it works out for you.
Cheers, Cassandra.
Ps) In trying to do this post I was having problems with this editor so the problem might not be on your side of the fence, someone (techies) might be fiddling *shrug
