Post Codes back on Aust Post Receipts
A post office receipt on 20 Dec 2011 does not show the postcode for a regular parcel up to 250gr.
Today's receipt for small regular parcel has the post code back again !!
I remember reading ages ago that Aust Post would implement this into the system again after their big changes
- so all good things comes to those who wait.

That's true, spade.
And my local post office has recently taken to bunging stamps on large letters rather than a label.
So the receipt only shows a general purchase of stamps.
I could do that myself and save a trip to the post office !!

Even having a PO receipt with the postcode on it for a missing (up to 250g) parcel I had recently didn't help me get a claim being accepted. I think the PO are now less inclined to refund on missing parcels unless they are registered.
Shorly after the changes were introduced by the PO re receipts, my PO lady asked if I wanted the postcode on my receipt. Of course I said yes, and she has been including it ever since. Perhaps now it is automatic.

Whether they use a label or stamps the receipt no longer has the postcode, I can only imagine that they want to make the compensation for missing large letters impossible to get without registering the item

You are fortunate - maybe your PO lady knows how to work the extra 'screens' or maybe my PO couldn't be bothered
With your claim that was not accepted, would it be worth a phone call to the Postal Industry Ombudsman? 1300 362 072

I DO have a very accommodating PO lady, who always does her best to ensure that my parcels go for the cheapest price (e.g. tests them through the 2cm gauge to see if it can be posted as a letter instead of a parcel). She gave me one of her old gauges and now I can test for myself before going to PO. But yes, I think she does have to do an extra step to get the postcode for a small parcel to appear on the receipt. I'm very lucky with my local (small) PO.
With respect to the missing parcel the PO refused to compensate for - it was back in late August the parcel was posted, and it was to the PO box of a business address. I have my doubts the parcel didn't arrive there, as the buyer claimed, and I'm guessing it 'disappeared' somewhere between the PO box and the buyers desk/pigeonhole, perhaps by whoever collected the mail and distributed it. I cannot see how else it could have gone missing. However, I refunded the buyer in early October after getting the refusal letter from the PO so it's not worth chasing up now.

All post offices that have computer can put labels on parcel with or without the post code.
When the parcel is on the scales a screen comes up and the operator has the choice, all you need to is ask for it to include the postcode.
You can also request postage labels on large letters if you would prefer, they don;t have to use stamps.
