PayPal Withdrawls
Hello Everyone,

I want to make a withdrawl via PayPal, simply question - when I hit "Withdrawl" and put in my amount, it comes up as "Bank Account Name" "xxx" as being the business name (no it does not come up as xxx it just comes up as the business name) and not the actual account holder name.

Not sure why that is, but would this cause the bank to refuse the deposit?

As long as the BSB & Account # are correct, the payment should go thru' .....
but then again, it maybe up to your bank's policies ....

You could try to be safe & change your PayPal details ..........???

 Hello,

Thank you for the input :-)

Unfortunately it does not let me, it just uses a business name of an old PayPal account I had left dormant for sometime, added a new account in and that is what PayPal has assigned as the user for the account, not my name so that's weird.

I am too scared to try it in case it bounces back!

I changed my bank account details a couple of years ago. Every withdrawal since has gone to the new account.

Maybe try changing your nominated account to the valid one? It takes a few days, as Paypal will deposit 2 amounts of a few cents into the account and you have to know what the amounts were in order to validate your account.

Failing that, I suppose you could buy stuff. That's the only other way you can utilise your PP funds.

You could open another PayPal account have it activated etc  and 'send' money to that account using the personal tab option so you don't pay fees .

Add your bank details and and transfer the money to your bank.

Failing that phone PayPal and ask how to proceed . The only thing I can think of the account not working properly is if you opened it using 'incorrect ' details .

Hey Everyone,

Well let me explain in more detail :-)

I put in a new account with PayPal which was my bank I use for funds and withdrawls etc. For some reason PayPal has used the "Business Name" of the PayPal Account on the "Bank Account Name", where your name would be "John Doe" it is "Business Name" not related to the individuals name.

I hope that makes sense, as we cannot get debit cards with PayPal I am hoping to withdraw this week as I am heading away soon so need to get it down rather quickly.

I did ring the NAB and they said it should be fine, but they said it may depend on PayPal whether or not it will go through.

Alright,

Question two.

Can we withdraw to an unconfirmed account that we add to PayPal - I believe to confirm an account it is done so you can upload funds to PayPal, could be wrong though?

You can send money to any email address registered with PayPal , however in order to send money from there to a bank account that account would have to be verified etc ( but you could phone PayPal and ask , seeing it's a financial transaction I doubt it can be done unless it's a verified PP account)

have you got a rellie or friend you can send the money to and they transfer it to your bank account from their PP account ?

Hello Issy,

Unfortunately I don't, my family is pretty much all "anti" towards PC's and none of them really understand PayPal.

I think you can possibly do it, I mean I added my account in and it sends the two deposits to your account to verify it which I did today - when I hit "withdraw" at the top the unconfirmed account is actually an option to withdraw to, so makes me wonder that you could deposit money in to it but not withdraw from it.

I am gathering that is how it does or will work - I mean, I may give them a call to verify it though it just seems like it may be possible to achieve.

I hate tough questions like this when you cannot really get an answer via the PayPal website.

Hello,

Thought I would update this, I had initiated the deposit under the different "Bank Account Name" and it still deposited so A+ to all of that.
