Hi,
My husband and brother have a huge pile of old soccer trophies they don't want anymore so before they all go into the bin does anyone know if they can be re-used or donated somewhere?
thanks

There is most definitely a market for used trophies... it's a cheap alternative for the smaller clubs when budgeting for presentations... they just remove the name plates, and attach new ones.  Many trophy shops actually sell second hand goods (available upon request).

You could try listing here... or donating to the local trophy shop... or if you wanted to donate them to a charity... any of the OP shops should take them off your hands.

Alternatively (and this would be my choice)... you could go and sit at the entrance to the soccer fields on the weekend... and hand the trophies out to people as they walk through the gate... after all, they deserve something for having to endure such a pathetic excuse for a game (it is nothing but rugby for pansies, after all )

There are trpphies for different sports listed in Listed in:
  • Sports
  • »
  • Sports Memorabilia  and then you choose the sport. Ones I looked at dont say BRAND NEW and they have 2009 on some of them. So must be second hand. Marian

Hi,
To be honest I am really not interested in listing them, I would rather donate them if they could save a small club some money.
I know our local club would not use them as the trophies given to the kids are all the same and part of the fees but just thought I would check first before getting rid of them.
thanks

Tickles..maybe since you live in QLD...you can find out if there is any use for them in one of the flood affected areas.  There may be a low key sporting club that was affected

 Hi there,

I don't suppose you still have these? I am looking to get trophies with the original plaques with name, event, date etc engraved on them for an art project.

Many thanks,
Lisa

Rather than asking here... you would be much better off messaging the member directly
