number of items selling
question 1: is it possible to find out how many items you have in EL other than having to manually count them? Just curious as wanted to check the items listed here matched the number in EL as ALL were done through EL
with leads to question 2: if all items were listed in EL, all went to the normal download list then were added to the upload list, nothing has been deleted..............why am I missing 28 items in EL that are listed here?

My EL is too messy to be able to collaborate the 2 ( Edit I don't mean synchronising - just being able to connect the uploaded numbers and EL numbers and which are missing / listed etc)
When I list I check that the uploading numbers are correct to what I've just listed and then check the numbers on qs that have listed correspond.
according to my upload log I have 883 items uploaded but it would be almost impossible for me to work it out as by the looks of it some are actually showing double .
No idea why some are missing but like I said the way I make sure everything matches is to watch the number listed , uploaded and listed on qs etc.
Then I usually download the lot back into EL and export the file.
Edit , I wonder where some of my listings on qs have gone though . Doing a stocktake I'm finding heaps that have just dropped out
trying to find the listing back in EL is a pain too so it looks like I'll have to do them again from scratch.

EL doesn't synchronise with Quicksales, as items sell or are withdrawn, you need to manually remove them from EL, or create a SOLD folder and move them there in case you ever need to reproduce the listing.

I have my listings in folders in EL, I have 500 in each folder, eleven folders in all. If I want to know how many are in a folder I just left click on the folder and the number of items in the folder appears at the bottom of the page.
I limit the number in a folder to 500 because more than that will cause the folder to take too long to open
By clicking 'title' at the top of the list you can sort all the items in alphabetical order either A-Z or Z-A, you can also do that with your listings on the quicksales site and relatively easily compare your listings in both places to find double entries or missing entries

Lol, I had to look at the date on this thread to make sure it wasn't an old one bumped up as there have been old threads about this same problem. This happens on a regular basis
and is only found when we do a stocktake if you have a of items to keep a check on.
I think last time I had around 40 to relist that had just disappeared, as well as quite a few that had been sold and somehow miraculously relisted.
Isabella, regarding finding the listings in EL. I use the

I emailed Admin last week, no answer yet? Then had 377 items listed when it slipped to 330, all items were there but could not understand why 47 count dropped out so I'm watching to see what happens now.
I only list with EL, do not save anything, after each upload I delete all, 99% of my items are one only so no point.

I have found in the last few weeks that items that have sold out months ago are being auto relisted with old postage & details . My wife has had this happen several times as well . I only found out after selling these items which does put me in an aquward possition . This might be what is happening to you gorgeous .

lol it gets even weirder. I opened the download folder today and there were forty items. I went to try Spade's way and the folder wouldn't open at all. Had to go back to the mother folder, open that to get in and lo I'd gained 20 items. Sadly I needed to gain erm 28 items to match my QS listings.
All QS listings have been done with EL and nothing has sold. So I'm now down to 8 items that seem to have gone walkies on their own. The items number on QS is fine as far as I can see. I just seem to have a hole in my EL where the listings drop out.

EL is to me like a mystery game , works well if you don't get too involved . Others post wonderful ways of using EL to it's full abilities yet I fail miserably to do the same
I keep mine simple , I think
When I do a search Ctrl+F I have to go through each folder to do a search for an item as doing the
entire EL
makes the Find and replace pop up fail and not respond . By the time I've gone through 6 or so I've had it and do a new listing .
I'm so not into EL as a program ( it could be much better ) but glad I have it all the same .

I realised that EL was a grab bag of surprises the day that I logged into it knowing that the last time I used it the duplicated file would be next to file it copied, but this day the duplicated file would travel to the bottom of the list. Nothing had changed. I'd clicked no buttons. Fate just decided that today was a bottom of the list day..
Now I log in knowing that each day is a new adventure where anything can happen and nothing surprises me anymore. It's a good way to put listings in a queue quickly to be uploaded later. Faith makes me believe that all I upload make it to their final destination unscathed. I'll just view the items listed count as a work of fiction for the moment until I find what's going on. Last time I was in there the numbers matched fine. All I've done since is log in as another account then switch back to this one. Perhaps I peeved it with my unfaithfulness so it took some listings away?
I've said it before in here and I'll say it again...............a synchronize button is a wonderful thing to have. Dear Quicksales Santa...............
