Levi Jeans - sizing
I have 2 pairs of Levi jeans... One on the back tag says 450 W 32  L 34 and the other 550  W 31  L 34.  The waist ? measurement for the 1st is 88 cm and the 2nd 84cm. Are Levi jeans in any certain size like 12, 14 etc?  Thanks if you can help..

Jeans are a real pain getting the measurements to correspond to regular sizing like 12, 14 etc. Every manufacturer seems to have different ideas. But I found on the Just Jeans website the following sizing for Levis:

A 32" waist (81.25cm) corresponds to a size 14, and a 31" waist (78.7cm) is a size 13. As is typical, the actual measurements differ from the stated measurements, and are in fact more generous. So I think you would be safe listing them as size 14 and 13 respectively, but make sure you include the actual measurements.

if the jeans state w34 that means they are men's jeans
but most women wear mens I know I do.
Women's jeans are more likely to be 12 14 ect.
I hope that helps...love my levi's.

I remember that Levis 501s were different than the rest - a 28 inch waist was a 10, 30 inch was a 12.

In the other styles (550 etc) 28 inch was an 8, 30 inch was a 10.

Had something to do with the height of the rise because often the waist band actually sat on the hips.

Thank you Magnolia... you are a Gem for anything to do with measurements and knowledge of such.   I will check the jeans measurements with the info you've given me... Thanks Again! & also the other ladies too..

Jeans without a size tag are a real pain, as the waist size is never what the band measures, as the jeans are usually worn below the waist, so is a bigger measurement. Marian

I have found that every pair is nearly always different and as this is the first time I have even seen teen girls jeans for 20 plus years. I am playing it safe by measuring and putting those measurements in the description. Hope that is what people want!

>>if the jeans state w34 that means they are men's jeans<<

Not necessarily. Depends on the brand.

I've also noticed that the zipper is on opposite sides for female or male.  My zippers in the 2 pair are on the male side - but this doesn't mean to me that they can't be worn by both sexes.

I have clothes which are definitely women's which don't necessarily follow the convention of buttoning or zipping on one side.
