Letter to dear fisher son
Dear fisher son,

Firstly I hate having to call you a fisher. This is political correctness gone mad.

A Fisher! Sounds stupid. So I will call you my fisherman son and your wife a fisherwomen. Well wait, a fisherwomen sounds stupid too. So I will just call you fisherpersons., but I would really prefer to call the both of you fishermen.

Are you OK with that?

So us ,your parents retired to the beach. We are away from the hustle and bustle of cities for a reason.

We like a quiet life. But we know we dont get it in the holidays here. We are invaded by Mexicans including you two.
Our town population triples at Christmas. We hate it.

Most of all we try to smile and be nice with you disrupting the household at 3am to catch tides whatever that means. We hate that the two of you have 25 fishing rods stashed all over the house inside and outside. We hate that we are continually picking up bits of fishing nylon line off all the floors while you make up special hooks for the catch you hope to get next day.

We hate that big fishing hooks are in reach of our hands in the kitchen, and on the dinning room table. And in buckets getting soaked for whatever stupid reason. We hate finding buckets of weights around the garden.

We hate that we have prepared meals and you come home with fish that needs to be eaten tonight when we have a roast in the oven. And what about that Christmas ham? Are we ever allowed to eat the blardy thing?

Now you have both gone to bed for a rest at 6pm because you have been up since 3am, what about our dinner?

While we appreciate having freshly caught fish to eat, we dont like it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sorry fisher persons, but right now I could eat a live cow for the lack of red meat. from Your loving mother.,

Update to dear fisher son,

If I was you I would throw those flatheads back. I cant work out why you would bother cleaning, and preparing a big fish to get a tiny bit of fish out of it from the tail. You got home at 3pm today and cleaned and prepared these flatties until 7pm in the kitchen while I was trying to hold off the meal for tonight.

Throw the blardy things back in the sea. Let them live! Only keep fish that are big enough to be cleaned and bunged in the oven or on the BBQ. Thanks son.

oh catspyjamas. You need to learn a few things.  Fish are cleaned OUTSIDE!!!  Fish hooks, and lines and bait and all the rest of the stuff stays OUTSIDE!!!  and all the stinking stuff too.  OUTSIDE!!! sounds like the kids are having fun LOL.  We live in a town much like your own.  Invaded by Mexicans!  I don't go shopping, I don't go into town at all while they're all here.  I let them have the shops, the clubs, the roads, the beaches, everything.  Much safer that way.  They have no manners or care or thought for anybody else.  I've been sworn at, road raged at, and nearly knocked over coming out of a chemist.  Nope they can have it.  I'll stay safely out of the way.

I have put my foot down. We are NOT having fish today. Not even having prawns. We are having a red meat day and a BBQ steak for tea.

And it is too windy to go fishin today.
