Jailbroken Mobile phone, what does that mean?
have seen this on a few ads for Mobiles and have thought HUH????

Can anybody tell me?

I believe it means that the phones have been hacked/broken into purposely with the aim of adding applications not authorised by the maker ie; Apple etc

I thought ot meant unlocked to any provider.

These new phones can do just about everything now bar wash the dishes!!!!!!   LOL

Nah , it's more to do with 3rd party apps that can access what is usally a locked file system so they can bypass the manufacturer or carriers system , using unauthorised firmware can kill the 3G unlock system.

Kind of what a relly did a few weeks ago , and now has a useless phone
