Item Enquiry From Poland
Anyone ever posted to Poland and are there any restrictions as to what to post ?

The item enquiry is about an item in the Health and Beauty section and not anything expensive or electronic etc

I have had an enquiry re a body spray, and I have let the person know that sprays in pressurised cans cannot be sent by air, so cannot be sent to Poland. However, I think if the item in question is not prohibited from carriage by air in Australia it should be OK.

Magnolia I dont think you can legally post aerosol cans in Australia either, they come under gases I have been told. Unless it goes by road as they are highly inflammable. Same with perfumes.

mirribears-andcraftsupplies there are many items on that list that can be posted in Australia, plants & second hand clothing included. I think that list is for overseas.

Below is for EXPRESS POST, which normally would be by air.

Dangerous goods

Goods classified by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority as being dangerous cannot be carried by air and therefore cannot be sent by Express Post or Express Post Platinum. Dangerous goods include:

  • explosives
  • flammable materials
  • radioactive materials
  • aerosols.

If the Aviation Security and Dangerous Goods Declaration on the front of your Express Post satchel or parcel is NOT signed the item cannot go by air and may be returned to you for your signature or forwarded by road.

Restrictions - Poland - Yes that list is for overseas that's why I posted it as the OP's question was for an overseas matter not AU

Hi Marian
I am aware you cannot send perfumes, aerosols or any DGs by air within Australia. Whenever I have to post such an item, I ask the lady at the PO to put a 'Road Only' sticker on it. She has told me this is acceptable.

Hi Annie; Marian & all! Slightly off topic but over the last fortnight I've had lovely new Quicksales buyers from USA ; France; NZ & Russia.

Postage costs were very high for them, (except NZ) but they were lovely to deal with & prompt in their Paypal payment. In each instance, mine was the only item like it online. Which has to be good for Quicksales.

I experienced no communication problems apart from English syntax & grammar, as the Russian & French gents both had reasonable English, read that they needed to ask for a postage price to their country, & did so. Cheers, TTLG.

EDIT:- I've had messages in text speak from Aussies that were harder to understand!

Blow me down! That takes the biscuit TTLG. I've had a query from Poland but the sale went through a friend of the buyer in the U.K. (all good). The same thing happened with a buyer in Cyprus. All good again, even though it had to go by surface mail.

I find my family history books can end up anywhere in the world. Even local history books can end up in bizarre destinations.

I presume quicksales aren't advertising in Poland and Russia and Cyprus so, for those moaning and groaning, the market is out there...

Hi! I have posted fresh, clean Canna Seed to Poland, with no restriction other than to have it clearly labelled & clean of all dirt & other plant matter. I do this regularly to Poland, for a 'Canna Friend' over there .. it's more difficult to send to some areas within Aust. when it comes to plants & seeds!  :(
