IS ANYONE DOING THE SLIMMM SHAKES???
My sister started on Friday, and mentioned it to me, so I was going in tomorrow to give it a go.  Anyone on it here?

I don't know about the 'slim' ones, but I did the Tony Ferguson shakes one and lost 23 kilos.

It was hard for the first two weeks,  but after that it was easy peasy..........I think they're all much of a muchness.....patience and perserverance are the key............(especially if you like choc. muffins)...

these are 6 days on 1 off.  I think you need to be sensible about it.  I have approx 30kg to get off, so I see this as a kickstart.  I have always been anti-shakes, but seem to have so much trouble loosing it by myself.
Replied by dtfonehome on 07-Dec-2009 14:00 (Ref 2012536) Report
Oh I see, well they're different to the TF ones, they were 2 meal replacement's a day, so it was easy to have a shake for breakfast and one for lunch.   I did eat copious amounts of vegies, and some fruit.   Just as I well I love my vegie's otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it.

Now (as I've moved to the beach) I walk twice a day for 30 minute's each way, and that helps maintain my weight.....and then reward myself with a choc. muffin once a week.........lol

For the first two weeks you'll need plenty of conviction.............stay true to yourself and you'll get there.

If I can support you in any way, let me know.................good luck with this...........

Yes these are 2 a day also, and you can pick when.  I will be brekkie and lunch also, but if I go out for lunch with friends I will have it for dinner.  Then from what I understand, you drop to one a day.  I was walking also. The kids to school about 5k a day took me 40 mins, but this is their last week at school.

Lots of water too Stilly........very important..

Having the kids home could be good, if you get them involved in walking, say, to a park and letting them run around while you nap or read a book under a tree, then the walk home will be good for all.   Tired kids, maybe even exhausted, a much trimmer Mum.....Yah happy days ahead............

Hmmmmmm like the slimmer, trimmer mum, lol.  Unfortunatley no park near me .  I live on the outskirts of town, so my walks are past sugar cane and small crops (how BORING!!!) keeping my eyes peeled for snakes!!!.

Can you still walk to the school and let the kids play ball games or kites on the oval for an hour or so?   Or drive to a park and you walk around the perimeter while they play?

Just watch the TF Shake Plan.
I went on it and lost 30kgs when I had lost all the weight I wanted to I asked "What Now".
There was no plan B I just got told ( by the pencil thin consultants) to stay on the shakes- What the........
I didn't want a life having to live on diet shakes.
They gave me no answers and as such I was on my own.
Needless to say the 30kg came back as I had no stratigies on how to keep it off.
If you are going to go on a shake diet, it maybe be worthwhile asking how you go about getting off it when you have reach your goal weight.

Thanks for that Kath, I will be asking tomorrow.  I have all the weight watchers books here, and the 5 Symply Too Good books, also, but I think they have a book to get you back to eating normal foods once you go off the programm. (I HOPE!!)

If you are on Lipitor, please be careful doing the shakes.  I did Optislim and it interacted with the Lipitor and I now have abnormal liver enzymes.  I did mine under the watchful eye of a Dietician and a Specialist Physician and still ended up with abnormally high liver enzymes, which are still high over 20 months later.

My advice, if you are going to do shake diets, do it in conjunction with a Dietician who will keep an eye on your health and will be able to help with after shakes diet plan.

Take care.

I have two work colleagues who went on the Slim Shakes.  They both lost a considerable amount of weight but as soon as they stopped, they put all the weight back on again.  The best way to lose weight is to exercise and eat small portions.
Replied by stilly73 on 08-Dec-2009 15:19 (Ref 2013721) Report
Hi l127, this is different to celeb slim. It is called "slimmm" it encourages 6 meals a day breakfast (shake or bar) a snack, lunch (shake, bar or soup), snack, dinner (cooked by you) and a desert. Then you drop a shake (your choice of when u think it would be easier) They also have a cookbook out to help you with cooking. Apparently this is the first of its kind in this sort of thing as it allows you to have a breakout day.  I have started today, and had a bar for brekkie, and a shake for lunch. I forgot the snack though so I need to train myself in that.  My biggest problem was skipping meals, then binging on crap. I will have a piece of fruit and a few brazil nuts for a snack around 3ish. My plans are not forever on the programm, but to train myself to eat right. Also to drink lots of water to flush out the toxins.

You hit the nail right on the head, stilly......that's the key!!

The only reason I ever put on weight, was because of what I put in my mouth, as soon as I lost the weight and started eating correctly, the weight stayed off.

Keep positive, stilly

I'm convinced that the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to join Weightwatchers. Yes, you lose the weight more slowly, but it gives your body - and mind - time to get used to eating smaller portions and eating the right sort of foods.

Over the years I have tried the shakes (meal replacements), the fad diets (Atkins anyone?), the Superslim (? where you eat lots of different nuts and pulses and grains - erk!) and Jenny Craig (meal deliveries) and although many of them work intially, it's keeping the weight off that's the biggest battle. And the only way to do that is to relearn WHAT you can eat, and equally important, HOW MUCH. And it must be followed for the rest of your life if you want to keep the weight off. So you really have to learn, and not try for any of the easy and/or quick fixes.

In 2008, I lost 20kg over 11 months on WW. It came off fairly slowly but regularly (about 0.5kg per week), and I reached my goal weight and therefore became a lifetime member. I have maintained my weight loss for over a year now, because I now know what I can eat and how much. I still get weighed once a month at WW and that's a good incentive to stay 'good'. My biggest problem was not knowing how much, as I already had a fairly healthy diet - I just ate too much. So portion control, which involved weighing food before eating it, became a habit, until I learned how much I could have. I might 'break out' occasionally, but always follow it up (or precede it if I know a blow out might be happening e.g. Xmas lunch!) by cutting back on the following (or preceding) days.

The only exercise I undertook for most of the year I lost weight was walking. In the last month, as the last couple of kilos were hard to lose, I joined a gym (Contours), and that certainly helped lose that last couple of kilos. I still go 2-3 times per week, but surprisingly, didn't put on any weight when I recently had to skip two weeks due to a sore back. The osteo said that because my body had to expend more than the usual energy to keep the pain under control, was probably the reason. But I know if I eventually stop going to the gym, I will take up walking again and am reasonably confident I will be able to maintain my weight.

Hi,
I tried the Slimmm shakes, unfortuantately every time I drank them I felt really ill from them, they were like drinking a really watered down milk drink.  Tony Fergusons taste much nicer and more filling.  I think the lure of a day off sends you over the rails too.  They do have a forum also, but when I did it, it was very new and not many people on there, I don't think they lasted very long either!  In saying that though, everyone's tastes are different, and you might really like them, good luck with it.

Now is the best time to start with weight loss! :-)
I used Herbalife shakes for my weight loss (not that I needed to lose heaps, but lost 6kgs to reach my goal weight of 60kgs). I'm now a distributor and weight loss coach and am happy to help anyone who wants to lose weight, and change their eating patterns so they can keep the weight off for good.

Shakes do work, but yes if you stop the shakes and just go back to eating how you used to prior to shakes, it makes sense that you will put the weight back on. It's crucial to understand that you need to change the way you think about food and know what foods to eat to keep the weight off and maintain your new trimmer, slimmer body.

Send me a message if you want any tips on weight loss and eating right :-)
Marian.

I also walk my boys to school, but I pick them up in the car in the arvo, it's just so stinking hot, once the wearther cools, I will walk back in the arvo.  The rain we have had up here has put a dampener on the walking, so that is why I havent walked, and why I need to lok at other exercise. Hi everyone I started my Slimm Shakes today have a bit of a headache but thats lack of sugar and a drop in my number of cups of tea today.

My current weight is 72klo's i have 6 weeks to loss 5klo's as my daughter has her 18th birthday party on the 11th of June and I bought Jeans 12 months ago that i can not fit into, so the 11th of June I am going to wear them.

I have done Jenny Craig a couple of times over the years and it worked but is very costly over time,I love my food and as i work as a medical receptionist i tend to bing eat as i work shifts and don't always get a break so the Slimm shakes are perfect for work.

My goal weight is 62-64 klo so here we go.....
