Ironing clothes
 Hi,
Is it just me or am I fussy, I was looking at womens clothing on here, wouldn't it look more presentable if clothing was ironed when you take your photo to sell. 3/4 of what I was looking at wasn't even ironed, looks like it's just been pulled out of a bag or been at the bottom of a pile of clothing, puts me off straight away. Doesn't matter what your selling it should always look presentable to potential buyers. What do you think !!!

It should be presentable but if i had found a slightly rumpled clothing item with a great description and one that had been ironed with no description i personally would go with the one that had great description details.

You're absolutely right.

Presentation is everything.

Doesn't have to look like a Harrods store window, but a bit of care with clothing goes a long way.....

Hi Lea; I don't think you're being fussy at all.

I'm not great at delicate ironing & once spent over 1/2 an hour pressing a too small for me pintucked hemp fabric blouse that I subsequently sold for $5.00.

The buyer was thrilled with her purchase & it made me feel good to have put the time in to present the item nicely & wrap it for postage in a neat & tidy manner.

I also have 3 different sized ladies mannequins, as I hate to see things pictured on the floor, or worse, an unmade or rumpled bed! I've even been known to press new items prior to dressing the mannequin, as some fabrics like rayon & linen just look crushed, even when new.

I don't sell many used clothing items, but agree with you that they should be given all care, even if listed for a low price. Also; Sellers should inspect carefully & mention any faults. It's disheartening for a buyer to receive garments that aren't in the condition they were described. Sometimes even new clothing items have faults, even though not supplied as seconds.

Very much agree with you Lea. Even though I loathe ironing at the best of times I'll make sure clothing is presented well here.

Seeing photos of clothing crumpled on the floor looks really awful IMO & I often wonder what care would be taken with other aspects of the sale.

I also agree with you! I have seen some clothing items with almost the whole room showing, and a small crumpled item on the mat that is the item for sale.
Also agree that details are very important, as is measurements. Marian

Agreed maybe thats why they are so cheap though.  If they ironed them they could get more but maybe dont have the time.

or maybe they dont have an iron, or maybe they dont know HOW to iron lol. ...Like my married daughter lol....I have tried teaching her, but she just cant/wont do it...she said she would end up burning down the house lol....any ironing of hers I am the "lucky" one that gets to do it lol...

Agreed tho, clothes look much nicer and saleable if they are presented well..I especially dont like to see pics of clothes taken on the floor!

Hear, hear Lea..I iron all my own clothes and that is how I would like to see them presented online..It dosnt seem to be a priority to some sellers, but if I see something nicely ironed, I think to myself, this seller takes care of things so I am more than likely to buy from them....

...and then you get the fabulous profesh pics, great angles and neatly pressed, and when you receive item, it is awful. Seller has brightened the faded item, pegged item so it is beautifully fitting on the mannequin Grrrrrrr
skin:)

Thanks everyone for your replies, I was really thinking it was just me. Most of what I was looking at was in the plus size clothing section. Just a little extra time makes a difference.....

No you are not fussy.  I too, like things ironed.  I make sure all my clothing that I list on Quicklsales are ironed.  I would not buy anything that is not ironed.

If I fade an item it is to show detail, I usually (I hope! LOL) mention that is the case in the description. But yes, pressing an item is a great idea, after all we want to create as good an impression to sell something these days of hard times , don't we!

Talking about ironing - which we were... has anyone heard of a machine/item that steam sprays the clothing - which both cleans and irons (Not an elna press).  Thanks for input & I agree - ironing makes things look like No. 1
