Not good to hear. Mylanta usually works ok for me. Just the tabs tho. I cant stand the liquid :(
Sometimes a drink of fresh milk helps. Agree with other member who said about peppermint.
There is many other things to try but I am at a blank atm.

A trip to the dr might be a good plan! Hubby is on tabs to help with his. Morning and night. He started off with just one in the morning, now is on morning and night. They have helped him.

Are you pregnant? I was like that during pregnancy lol.

Good luck and I hope it improves for you. Nothing worse than indies :(

Try Tums for indigestion.  Hubs swears by them now over any other tabs.
Also if this persists don't put up with it and go see a doctor.  Hubs was typical tough aussie bloke and put up with heart burn and bad indigestion for ages.  Ended up in emergency with gall bladder trouble.

Milk, cheese is good for indigestion. I also swear by the tea too.

Slippery Elm powder works wonders , tastes horrible but if you take it after meals you will not get indigestion . Your health food store will have it the powder works best.

Finding the cause is vital , so maybe a trip to the GP to make sure all is ok.

go to your gp to rule out heart disease firstly, then quit smoking, lose weight or failing that get your gp to prescribe an anti reflux medication.

Something to take now would be milk - works wonders, after mylanta works well but the best would be Zantac - you can get it from the supermarket now - use to be only prescription - supermarket ones would probably be a lower dose - but it neutralizes the acid in your stomach so that it doesn't burn.  If it keeps happening, then I'd see your doctor about it.

ok,it sounds like you've got reflux and probably ulcerated your oesophogus. firstly, don't lie down or recline for at least 4-5 hours after you last ate.  Keep off all fatty foods, yes, full cream milk and cheese.  keep off all spicey and hot foods.  no cabbage or anything else that causes wind.  Eat kiwi fruit or pineapple after your food.  That helps the food get out of the stomach quickly.  Then Gaviscon, you can get from supermarket.  to soothe the oesophogus, swallow some honey.  This is all till you can get to the doctor.  ok? Most of it will probably still apply though.  Get it diagnosed.  ulcerated oesophogus can turn to cancer if left untreated. I know your pain and feel it for you.

ummmmm if its reflux then milk will only make it worse.  And drinking water wouldn't cause, it, might not help but wont cause it.

I'm on constant medication and quite often half a pack of quickeze or rennies or whatever as well.  Can't wait til family plannign is over and I can go back to stronger medication!!!

One more thing, if you can get to a health food store, you can take Nature's Goodness Propolis Candy.  It soothes the burn in no time at all and also heals the burn.  At this stage you will obviously need more than one,  you just suck them.  You can't overdose on them.  And do follow all those other measures I gave you.  They are for the prevention.
