I have a new Grandson and I'm so very very excited.
Hiya all,

I'm just bursting just have to tell the world,  I have a new grandson  'Oliver Peter' .  6Ib 9oz

My son and his wife both had major difficulties that left them unable to conceive naturally and not great odds of going full term,
my son couldn't tell me the news through his sobbing - I'm just so grateful and proud of them all - I reckon Grandpa in heaven played a big hand in this one.

Thanks for allowing me to share my joy
cheers jinni

I think they are both so very stunned and especially as it was a very very short labour after her waters broke last night.

Marie it'll probably take a while before i am allowed to post pics - throughout this whole time I've not been allowed to tell anyone anything, about anything and I respect their wishes but it's been damn hard going through some of the heartache and having to hold it in.

He is just so tiny compared to my other grandchildren, it's nice to have small one lol

Thanks for the wishes everyone

Jinni, I understand what you mean.

My daughter who is now 9, was an IVF baby. I tried for 4 years to get pregnant and then one day I made Renee's father go to the dr. We were referred to Monash IVF and  after spending nearly $10,000 and one year later, I was pregnant. Jinni, when I found out, I seriously was in shock, as I couldnt believe it.. My daughter was 2 weeks prem and born 8 pounds 6 after 15 hours of labour. How long was she in labour for?

My son and his wife have been married 3yrs today and their bub was born the exact time they were married.

Because dil is a nurse and we knew there maybe probs on my sons side,  and because she thought she would fall pregnant exactly when she decided to (lol) they investigated  sooner than most couples may. My sons probswere alot worse than anticipated and also found he  had chromosone probs and also my dil had major probs too.
It all is a very expensive process Marie both emotionally and money wise.

Marie her waters broke during the night,  went to hosp they were going to send her home but Dr wasn't ready to.
He checked at 2pm and she was nowhere near dilated enough to think about the baby coming - by about 2.30 they scanned heartbeat which was dropping as it would when the 'mum' is ready to push - so they rang Dr ,checked with dil who said 'yes' she wanted to push. Got the Dr back and the bub arrived at 3.25pm.
How quick is that for a first bub.

Hmmm need some monogrammed bibs now

Jinni, that is soooo lovely. What a lovely present for them and what a blessing too.. Bub just knew when to arrive lol!.

Renee's dad was a diabetic who never looked after himself and as a result, was infertile. Then they checked me and found that one ovary was over worked and the other was a lazy ovary. All the time, patience and money was well worth it Jinni.

Have gone to see them and Oliver yet?

Oh Marie tell me about the 'diabetic'  my dd has diabetes has had it since she was 8 ,  and her control has never been the best  (not that it's easy mind)  she's had 2 bubs and I pray she wont go back again for more because I dont think her body would survive it again.

I went to see them earlier,  and omg my son just cried in my arms  (it's times like this I reckon he misses his dad the most), I think his relief and joy and grief all just poured out.

Oliver is just so so lovely and I know babies are but oh he is.

Jinni, I really hope your daughter is taking very good care of herself. Renee's dad never did. He passed away just over 2 years ago. diabeties is a shocking thing to have, (as you know). If she has had problems, I am hoping for her sake that she doesnt have more as well.

Your poor son would feel alot of weight lifted off his shoulders as well. I can imagine what he is going through. When I had my daughter, I just broke down as well. When she was two days old, and were by ourselves, I just broke down. Not because of unhappiness. But just the releif, and everything else that came along with trying to have a baby for years and finally she was here. I couldnt beleive that she was mine. I used to look at every parent and think how lucky they were and that I would never have any. So I know how they feel.

Jinni, expect him to be like this for some time. It takes alot to sink in and realise that finally this has happened. We finally have a baby after trying for so long.

Jinni, I am so happy for you, your family and most of all, your son and daughter in law.

Thank you all again for the best wishes,  my son dropped by this morning and he is absolutely glowing it just so overwhelming to watch.  He is staying in with his wife at the hosp while she is there and has taken 6 weeks off   talk about doting dad and husband lol.

Been spending most of the day trying to reorganise flights for my 14yr old dd who was meant to be flying back from the Gold Coast today - airport is closed (my heart goes out to the Queenslanders).

Thank you everybody
cheers jinni

I have a feeling Jinni, that your son is going to be a brilliant dad. Sounds like a nice person too. Must run in the family.

I bet he hasnt wiped the smile off his face yet either . Hows your daughter in law doing?

Those poor Queenslanders. They have been through hell and back... I really hope they are going to be alright.? Hope your daughter gets home safely too.
