Hypnosis for Weight Loss
Hi,

I am considering Hypnosis for Weight Loss, I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and does it work.  I'm not interested in the CD's that you can buy, I am thinking of visiting a Clinic.  I have done the hard yards of losing my weight, I really want to maintain, but I still have triggers where I want to keep eating not so good foods, (I don't have an "Off" switch) so anything that can help me stay where I am would be great.

Has anyone done this before and succeeded?

Cheers
Cindy

I have never had hypnosis for weight loss, but about 12 yrs ago by brother and i had hypnosis to stop smoking.

Neither of us were hypnotised and as soon as the session finished and everyone was leaving 3/4 of the people walked out and had a smoke.

Wasn't worth the money for us.

Last year I spent around $400 on a quit smoking hypnosis session, and as soon as it was over and I left the building, I lit up. Total waste of money and would never consider hypnosis for anything ever again.

Have not tired hypnosis, but had gasric banding done 4 1/2 weeks ago. Was more painful than expected the first 7-10 days, but best thing I cld have done now. Have lost 15 kg in 4 1/2 weeks. Very happy. Cost less than $3000 with my health fund and medicare rebates. Good luck! Cathy

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your replies, perhaps it's not as good as it sounds then, so I won't go there and waste money on it.  I am currently about 60kg and a size 10 - 12, over the last four years I have slowly lost 30kg, but I would love to be able to stay here without constant struggle of wanting to put bad things in my mouth.  I doubt I would be considered for Lap Band as I wouldn't be classed as overweight, but I read about a clinic who does Hypnosis for weight loss and just thought I'd see if it was any good.  I guess hard work and determination is the key.

Cheers

years ago it was the rage to get your ear pierced in a certain spot to stop smoking or eating. Was like accupuncture type thing I think.

Anyway no idea if it's since been proved to be a hoax or whatever as haven't bothered to check but I know quite a few who swore by it at the time. One mum was extremely overweight and would simply turn the earing when she felt the urge to pig out. Said it made her instantly nauseous at the thought of food. Started to lose a fair bit of weight but then fell pregnant and had to take it out. Would have been interesting to see how much weight she lost if she'd kept going.

But anyway, costs you nothing to look up chinese pressure points that you could try out and see if it helped?

A personal choice but I know I’d never get lap banding as several people I know have had it and with no exception, they are all overweight again a few years down the track.  Yes the weight loss was spectacular initially but it’s all back.  I now ask “what’s your poison” and invariably it’s either alcohol or sugar!  Mine was alcohol but I no longer drink it.

I’ve also lost about 34 kilos also in the last 2 years and am now about the same weight as you Cindy.  I doubt I’ll ever put it back on again as if I have a day where I give in (like yesterday or Christmas Day :D) then I just make a mental note not to do it again for at least 4 – 5 days.  One day is not going to make a lot of difference.  I’ve also had hypnotherapy quite a few times over the years.  I feel it did help me.
