How do I curl my hair? :(
Hi all,

I used to use "Perm for a day" but my sets went missing, and I cant find them to buy ANYWHERE. I've tried those noodle things from Avon, hated them. Would you suggest heat rollers or a curling iron.

Ill be looking for loose, natural looking curls, I have wavy hair that comes to the bottom o my shoulder blades. Its not overly thick, but not overly thin either....

Thanks

Take mine!!!!   I have natural tight ringlets & will happily give them away
Why is that those with straight hair try &curl & those with curls want to be rid of them....

Oh I'd LOVE to!!! The only reason I dont get a permanent one is because Im not sure if curls will suit me

Priceline have some pretty funky pink curling irons but whether the curls stay in or not is another thing.

I've always gotten the best curls out of going for a swim in the salt water at the beach and now the hairdressers sell beach hair products.

Hi
If I let my hair dry naturally- it's ringlets

I blow dry into waves

If you have a wavy hair- then do with a hair dryer and brush
or
Let dry and use a GHD type

be careful of the curling irons as they can burn your hair

My mum curls her hair and she got these roller things - ( not the ones you buy in shops )
they were $20 for a packet - but- they work and don't rip her hair out

If you REALLY  want curls-  curlers while ALMOST soaking wet -  then get a blow dryere and dry them - or just walk around for a while

You have to pull the hair into the curler- tight- ( not loose) and don't over do the amount of hair on each roller ( big mistake)

also- sunsilk make a great " curls"  and " straighten"  stuff you put in - after conditioning

it will help curls stay in & help haor stay straight
I got caught in rain storm today & 100% of the time in the past- my hair would frizz

NOTHING  today- looks great :-)
because of the sunsilk stuff

great stuff - I am allergic to nuts - so cannot use some of the stuff for hair straightening( Almond Oils & other nut oils in them)

Sunsilk works great for me ( and inexpensive )

Cheers :-)

Theres a product called Kinky Curly Custard, I use that for natural looking curls, BUT you cant get in Australia and expensive........easy to use and my curls look shiny and frizz free.
I wish I had straight hair though!!!

Hi
I will never forget goingto Asia and the hairdressers there said ( I had to go to hairsalon- as no rollers etc )
" so much hair - so curly ! "

she called everyone to come look !

Happens a lot to me - but now- it's touching my backside ( when I sit ) and if I went back today- they'd probably shut their doors and say Closed ! ( ha ha )

There are so many great products on the market now- Just be careful what you get
Example: a BLACK  hair dye can have an ingredient that has a reaction to many women ( funnily enough- not to me ) and many women have lost their entire head of hair - with burn / scars - left there

If unsure of any word on the packet- google it and check it out
IMO-  this could save your hair

There's actually only one or2 products on the market that don't have that lauret stuff in them ( which thins hair - kills roots etc ) and that's expensive shampoo

I have to use a special shampoo - do to my skin - it doesn't have that stuff in it ( cannot remember the exact name - Laurent sulphate or something similar)

It doesn't have your hair "drop out"  but- one by one your hair thins !!!
and it's in 99.99% of all shampoos !
WHY ! - gives that "clean" sqeak to hair that people like  ( maybe- I honestly cannot remember- I read the article ages ago)

gotta run

my point is - Just be careful what you choose for your hair
My aunt has no hair at the front and thin hair at the back and a decent wig is in the $800 plus ( for afringe )

PS
when drying hair that's curly and you don't want the frizz
make sure the hair is 100% dry- if the roots are damp- the hair will frizz

:-)

AND
the BIGGER  the Roller-  The  Bigger  the  Curl
If you want little curls- use small rollers
BIG  bouncy curls- Use BIG  rollers

don't over do the amount of hair on each roller
or- it will take forever to dry properly

I remember sleeping in them- ouch !
BIG huge    rollers - to get the tight ringlets out and give a decent bounce / wave

Problem then- we didn't have stuff to stop hair frizzing- we do now :-)
