Help with Little Golden Books please?
Hello,

I have got a few Little Golden Books I want to List but when I went to list it, it says I have to choose between Sydney Editions or Other Editions but I checked on each of my books but it doesn't mention whether it's Sydney or Other Editions, so I guess my question is where do I find this out please?

Thanks in advance,

Warren

Goodafternoon Warren - It really is quite easy to tell the Sydney Editions from the USA Editions, the old Sydney Editions usually have a black and gold foil spine or a brown and gold foil spine and will have Golden Press Sydney at the bottom of the  title page.   The publication details   "Published by Golden Press Pty. Ltd....Sydney"  at the bottom of the following page along with other  details.

Hope this helps.....

I forgot to also mention Warren that you can  get Sydney Little Golden Books that have a gold paper spine  which consists of gold flowers and leaf decoration, this is also on the back cover which looks very ornate, these are REALLY OLD editions

There are some that have the gold foil spine similar to the USA editions, but these are usually the softcover book, although there are a few hardcover ones around
To be sure always check inside the books.

Hi Warren; I've also found that some old American editions have details on the last page inside the back cover.  Also it's best to specify whether hardcover or softcover when listing.

ohh I found this very interesting. I have heaps of these books from when my boys were little I was keeping them for the grand sons but they live too far away plus most of them are too old for these books now.
the books are at least 30 years old.
one of these days I will get around to listing them. maybe after my world trip, I won't get time before that. busy painting ready for renting and packing stuff ready for storage.

Richbartim; Some of the books I have listed were mine or my elder sister's or mum's. As far as I understand it, LGB's are, in some instances, collectable. It seems to be all in the year & where published, condition & such.  Misspickysbooks.

hahhaahahahaa... ohhh yes.. but I won't have time now got to arrange for a shipping container for my back garden and get every thing packed into it so we can rent out the house, the rent will help fund our trip.
may be when we get back sometime in 2013 I can sell them plus the BIG tub of leggo and matchbox cars, collectors plates, bendigo pottery ohhh so much needs to go.might help to pay off the dept from the trip..lol.
