Help with contrast
I have a Fujifilm FinePix S5700.
I take close-up photos of jewellery and would like to know if anyone knows how I can get a better contrast with my pictures.
I set the jewellery against a background which I think will show it up but it still looks bland.
Any help would be appreciated.
regards
Ann

I had a look at your 4 necklaces, and the photos look pretty good to me. The large yellow pendant is perhaps not the best one, but the one with the large blue stone looks good - perhaps because it's on a mannequin? Most of the pack ones look OK to me as well - the only ones which are difficult to see are those still within their plastic bags. Are there any in particular you are concerned about?

Hi magnolia134

Thanks for going through for me.
I just think there is a lack of definition, although I've tried different settings, even auto, to take my photos.
I agree that the ones that are most difficult to see are the ones still in their plastic bags but It was necessary to leave them in as my hands don't undo & redo packages these days!
I've seen other photos of jewellery and they seem so clear, like cringly1950, and johnmandy,(although johnmandy is setaway, her photos are always good!)

Thanks for your help.
