HD Set Top Box...........Help!
Hi.
We cannot seem to get a "MENU" Display showing up on the TV Screen in order to do the set up.
We have tried to find an empty channel through AV 1 & AV 2 and the tv just stares blank at us!

Even though there are step by step instructions, we need to be able to access step one to be able to go from there!

P.S. Do we need the HDMI Cable for the set top box to work?
(The HDMI Cable wasn't supplied with the HD Set Top Box)
Only the AV Leads (Yellow/White/Red) were supplied!

(Would that have anything to do with....why nothing is happening?)

Even if we didn't need the HDMI Cable, what in the hell is it for anyway??...lol

Many thanks in advance for your help!
Cheers Kat

Hi Ya. I don't think you need HDMI cables. I don't have a STB but I have a PVR/STB diff being it records to a stick not Hard Drive. mine doesn't have a HDML cable. do you have the red/white/yellow cable connected correctly? also a coax cable (Ariel) connected ?.
I have 3 items needed connecting with the 3 cables each I had to buy an av connecter box with 3 switches. I just click to which I need to view. ... Dvd...Video...Pvr/Stb...
hope that helps.

do you have a clever (know it all) neighbor who might be able to help? when all else fails I ask the fella across the road.
hmm ok....how about the tuning of the tv. ...set top box.
we tried that even thou we thought we had all the stations...it found more then that should give you an open channel for your av.?

Hi. you should have a ariel to set top box input and a lead from output to TV.

Thanks everyone!
IT'S WORKING NOW!

For the life of me.......we turned it off for a long while, and when we switched it on
it worked!
Somehow?...  a picture showed up on the AV 1 (although fuzzy) and when we pressed the MENU button, on the HD Remote, all the HD channels are now working!

I cannot figure out why it was refusing to do anything before???
Am ever so baffled by that!!

So, thanks again to everyone that have taken the time to try and help!
Regards Kat :)

hmmm yes...that happens.. once you turn off anything like that and leave it off for up to 24 hours it will re set it self to factory settings then all should be good again. I forgot to tell you that.lol.
So Glad you got it going.
