Has anyone ever worked as a phone sex operator?
How much is the pay?Not that I'm interested or anything, just curious to know.

Well a friend of a friends grandmother has just taken up doing it from home, and we're all dying to know how much you get paid to do this type of work.

A girl I work with now at the bank used to work as one. she did it at some sort of call centre type thing. It worked out she was getting about $100 an hour. not bad money, but i personally couldn't do it without laughing

I couldn't do it........my other half complains I don't do it often enough      ( talk dirty that is, oh and he complains about the other as well )......so theres no way I could talk dirty to a stranger......lol

There is jobs ive seen advertised for this in syd paper. You can actually do it from your home and get a 1900 arranged.  Sounds like it could be a good laugh at their expense and get paid for it.

Ahhh No I have not worked as a phone sex operator but...

I sound very young on the phone even to the point where my sons school asked me to come in & speak to them as they believed I was one his friends making an excuse for him I pleaded with them to take my word for it they refused...So I stood outside the office & then rang..... then walked in with a "SEE, Told you I am his Mum" Or people ring to speak to my Mum..I say "I am the Mum!!"
 
Anywho, my husband thinks I could make a mint if I worked as a phone sex operator..Who knows...Maybe it could be my next career move lol I hear the money is good & oh the stories you could tell lmao!!

I used to get paid between 80c and $1.00 a minute.  But be careful, some of the companies running the 1900 business are cons.  They tell you to get an ABN as according to them you are a self-employed contractor, but when you go to Centrelink or enquire elsewhere, you are told you are an employee, so then you are in carp.  Some will also tell you about websites to go to to find potential callers.  I did a search on Google and found this website, check and see if the company is listed for complaints filed against them, if they do, probably a good idea to stay clear of them

I have to hang my head in shame admitting the one & only 'panter' call I have ever received eventually hung up on me!
I thought it was one of the guys I worked with - so paid him out heaps - only to realise after I was hung up on that that particular guy was on holidays & in a different state.  Apparently the panter didn't like my description of his manhood LOL

The grannie that has taken up doing this work is in her 70's and is doing it to save up for a trip to South America. Apparently it was the only work she could get. Turns out the rest of the family is furious with her, and she's happy to go around telling everybody whats she's doing, just won't say how much she's gettig paid to do it.

I would do it all again if I still lived in Sydney.

If you saw the hurt in people when they come in and ask for an explanation as to why their phone bill is so high some would think twice about doing this.
My last employer couldn't pay his staff because he was paying his phone bill.
Sometimes not doing something on principle speaks volumes about a person, more than money ever does.

If the phone bill was so high, he must have been spending a lot of time on the sex lines. If you choose to use it then you have to pay for it. I don't mean to sound callous, but why would you feel sorry for him, or is it the workers who didn't get paid you felt sorry for?

They are providing a service, and obviously it is a service that a lot of people want to use. Like prostitution, it may not always be right, but it can only survive if there are people who choose to use it.

We all have choices in life, and sometimes we make wrong ones. It is just a shame when other people have to suffer for wrong decisions.

I couldn't do it though, because I'm not as good with my mouth as I am my fingers, lol ... that sounds funny, but really, I'm great at writing the stuff, just not talking it, if you know what I mean!

Yes, I'm working as one right now as a matter of fact.  If someone chooses to spend their money on phone sex, and is irresponsible about it, that's their problem.  Anyone who wants to shut down phone sex operations because of irresponsible callers should probably think about getting rid of lotteries, casinos, liqour stores, etc-any vice which is certain to tempt the weak to overspend.

I love my job.  I tried going corporate-total bust, at least in my case.  I'm not saying it's going to last forever, but for now it's the perfect job for me.

The pay ranges depending on which company you're with-you can make $100 an hour, or you can make minimum wage.  You can log in a few hours a week, or you can be a full time phone slut.  It's all what you make of it.

firstly..

you were not allowed to talk about sex actually, it is illegal..

you had to talk in innuendo..

and you copped calls all night long..

my husband.. he thought it  a great idea.. as i was sexy.. and like to talk.

only problem was after submitting all my bank details etc.. i never got paid.. one month i worked..around the clock, around my regular job.. but no money..

it was cool.. met some really nice guys..

in fact.. i am now divorced.. and would love to meet up with a guy i spoke to in the northern territory.. but of course, i did not know him and he did not know me..

oh.. and yes.. i always dressed sexy.. so i was not lying..

I came across this accidently and while interesting reading it hasn't give a reply to the original question.Why did cnphoneho? say she worked in th industry but didn't actually explain how the job worked or how to  enquire looking for a job etc.Makes for interesting conversation though.Can you imagine working as phone sex operator for 1 mnth and no pay.Boy did you get ripped off.And yes I ,too, have had people mistake me for one of my childrens friends and then being told quite forcefully"Put your mother on the phone!". I usually ask them for their manager as I am now going to complain about your behaviour!! I hate having a young voice as I have had people asking me would I consider going into the sex industry-phone sex etc. I hope some one has all the answers as it would definately be great to get all the facts,including how to find the honest operators and avoid the cowboys who are out to rip off people!!!

 I REALLY wouldn't do so good at this kind of job, once when I was on holiday with my folks and had to stay away from hubby for a few weeks, he asked me if we wanted to try the whole phone $ex thing, I couldn't stop laughing my a$$ off the whole time! He eventually gave up trying! lol!!!

I actualy thought of this as a business venture, like you could have a nun, a realy overweight woman, a gay guy (cover bases here), a big dark woman etc, charge by the second, could make tons.
