Has anyone bought & used those magnetic bed underlays?
I keep seeing the ad on TV for the magnetic bed underlay with the pillow one's too.
My question is - has anyone bought them, used them & do they really work - ie help relieve aches & pains - ie arthritis, etc etc.
The ad says you get 2 free magnetic pillow things valued at $79.00 - so I imagine the underlays must be very expensive.
Just like some input before I even bother looking into the price of them.
Thanks heaps
Zoe

Hi Zoe, my daughter bought us one about 3 years ago, it was a special offer at the time....my parents have one too....mum loves it, and my hubby feels it has helped him also......I can't really say either way, but it certainly has done me no harm...lots of people swear by them....they cost about $150 then, not sure about their price now....but not much more, I don't think.....Puddi

Thanks Puddi
It's frustrating when you can't try them out before buying. Even if they are just over $150.00 it's still a lot of money to fork out if it doesn't work.
I'll wait and see if anyone else replies and then do some research on prices over the weekend.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Cheers

Bought one.  The biggest waste of money I ever spent.

Put on bed for 1 month and had the worst months sleep (or lack of sleep) in my life.  The magnets just interfered with my biochemistry in a negative way.

I have back problems and thought it would help, but my sleep is way more important when it came down to things.

I ended up removing the magnets from it so at least I could use it as an underlay and get some sleep.

I bought one, can't say it did much for me either. It hasn't been on the bed for months. I too took the magnets out of it.

I've had one for about 5 years, at the time cost about $300

Thought it was going to be the best thing ever.

Waste of money, & do they ever hold the dust, you can't see it until you use an empty vac bag, vac the bed only, then look in the bag

And when you wash them once a year the magnetics fall off

Just save up & buy a good mattress

I got one around 4 or 5 years ago and didnt notice much difference till I took it off and OMG I noticed the difference bigtime. I ended up with so many aches and pains and then put it straight back on. I also wear a magnetic bracelet and i dont care what anyone says it also works for me bigtime.

Hi Zoe I got one for the pain I have in my arms...We have had it on the bed for the past 7 years and I have been able to sleep through the night since....I don't know if it works or its just wishfull thinking but I'm sleeping, which is something I was not doing before we got the thing.....If your going to buy one get it from a chemist, I got mine from an E-Pharmacy ( onr of those cheap chemists) and paid around $290 for it....at the time they were selling on tv for $35.00 plus postage...
you wont know untill you try, give it a go it cant hurt and it may even help...

Hi Zoe, we bought one several years ago from a mail order place In Qld.(BIO-MAGNETIC)
Hundreds of $'s and it did no good to my back.
When I decided to wash mine the magnets also came out! Maybe you are not meant to wash them, not sure, but not very hygienic if you cant. Tp me they are a wsate of money. Marian

Zoe check out your local chemist as as mentioned above they sell them.
I was told not to buy the cheaper versions as they are  not as good quality as the more expensive ones.
I have shocking back probs , rheumatoid and osteoporosis and have been thinking about getting one myself.
My mother and sister wear magnetic bracelets and those bandages with them in and they say they get relief.
I also have a friend that bought one from the chemist and put it on there bed mainly for her husbands back problems and she said since having it on she has found a remarkable differance in her sleep and pain levels when waking up.
I guess it is one of those things that works for some people and doesnt for other.
The cost is a bit out of my range at the moment but i wouldn t mind getting one in the future.
Cheers

Thanks everyone for all your replies.
I'm more confused than ever now LOL.
But seeing how the price for a queen size is approx $300 - I will try to put up with the pain - way out of my price range atm - especially if there's no guarantee it will work.
Hubby will probably make me sleep in the "dog house" if it didn't work for that sort of money LOL.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone

Hey Zoe, maybe you could just start out using a magnetic bracelet or necklace first and see how it goes, I bought mine here for just $1.00.

Leigh, did you have a pacemaker put in after your heart op? Just wondering as the magnets make pacemakers malfunction by interupting the signal to the heart. Marian

Hi Zoe, I have a queen size fitted one here that you can have for the price of the postage.  I've just weighed it and it comes to 4.1 Kgs (wrapped).

I've downsized to a double bed seeing as there's only one of me, so the queen size one is no good to me and my kids all have King Size beds, and it would have gone to charity at some stage anyway, so there you have it.

P.S. It was the best thing I ever invested in, and I even bought one for one of my sons who also swears by them.

This one is fluffy wool  with cotton stretch sides and I can't see how the magnets can get out, but that can be your problem if and when you decide to wash it.

Let me know by emailing me thru here if you want it and I can mail it Monday.

I bought 3..1 x single 1 x double 1 x king size.
We use the king size on our queen bed. (no queen size at the time) I find it is nice a cossie, but I don't know if it is any better with the magnets or not. I never had any problems before but now as i'm getting older I do have some back twinges. I think it has helped Hubby he doesn't seem to complain as much about his back(maybe he knows i'm not interested LOL). the double one is for when we move to our other house we will have to buy a double bed as the rooms are smaller so that's for that one. thee single I bought for Mum's bed but she said no she didn't want it.. so that's still in it's bag.
I don't think I could sleep now without my under blanket but I still don't know about the magnets.

I have heard different comments on these and the one that stuck in my mind was the fact that it only works at night,We my wife and Have chosen a Bracelet but with a difference these contain the strongest Magnet available are registered as a medical device and as the body never gets used to this natural treatment you have on going relief or your money back within 3 months,I have also learned that they can help with up to 100 different ailments,[will help different people in different ways] but pain relief is guaranteed,so not just pain,we know this from ecperience, even or son will swear to the fact that it cured his carpel tunnel.
Cheers Barry.

Zoe, my daughter bought us one in March. Hubby doesn't think it helps him, but I see the difference in him recovering better and quicker after activities (two knee replacements) and I am not sure about mine. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and not sure whether it is the underlay or the new drugs which help LOL.
Most of them have a three month guarantee - if they don't work, you can send it back and get your money back so there is really nothing lost. I think it is a Bio-Magnetic one we have and that one came with the guarantee.
Good luck.

Im thinking of getting one but it will cost $250

Hi
I'm like you- would like to try but so expensive

I have read a few things up on them & discovered that- the ones that do work- these work because of the amount of magnets

If the underlay has only so many- it wont work ( apparently)

they must have so many per so much space ( I fprget how many)  and I found that MOST don't have this
There's only a few that do & one is the one that ( that guy who used to be on TV all the time- what's his name ???? ) he advertises them
ARGH !!!! Brain fog

Tony Barber ! ?

Also - some have only so much thickness in the underlay - and this causes the person to sleep FEELING the magnets

Some have underlay & wooly - fluffy bit- others just the wooly fuffy bit - others the underlay

I read the underlay AND woolly fluffy is better

But- the amount of magnets per space- the thickness of the underlay ( to stop you feeling the magnets) - is what I read is the important bit
which is why some say they are the best thing since slice bread & others say a waste of money

I would love to try- myself-  but cannot afford to waste that sort of money

I will try and find out if it is Tony Barber I am thinking of
I will know- if I see the ad again

cheers Zoe :-)

Those that need pain relief, why not do what both my wife and I did and get a strong Magnetic Bracelet that not only looks very nice but IT WILL WORK.And will help with more than pain relief also it will work 24 hours a day and not just when you sleep and is a whole lot cheaper than an underlay.Look up www.ecoflow.plc.uk to find your nearest outlet for more information.
Cheers Barry.

Thanks everyone for all your helpful information.
I have a magnetic necklace - but keep forgetting to wear it.
And I did have a magnetic braclet but lost it when we moved.
They do work when I'm wearing them.
But I can't sleep with them on.

DT - you have mail -

Oh and I must go check out the pet forum about the bird too.
Okey dokey back to listing I go.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day -

Thanks to the lovely deets - I have had the best 2 nights sleep for the past 10 years.
I didn't want to get out of bed - could not believe how fantastic the magnetic underlay she sent me is.
The first day I woke up 80% pain free - still had to take pain meds.
Then the next day 100% pain free - no meds - I'm totally blown away - and you cannot feel the magnets at all. Even hubby loves it - it's thick and warm and soft & cuddly -
So if anyone wants a recommendation - the one deets gave me works. - Deets you are such a beautiful, precious, caring lady.
My body thanks you, my heart thanks you - Now I just want to stay in bed all day LOL
In fact I'm heading off there now to read for awhile & then fall into a blissful sleep.
Goodnight everyone
Zoe

And yes she is such a precious special lady

If the name's not on the label, then I don't have a clue.   I'll have a look through some of my guarantees/instructions file and see if I've kept anything on it.   I either bought it from one of those vendors who set up in the middle of Redbank Plaza or Aldi, as I bought one for my son too at an earlier date, and I can't remember which was bought where.   I need to find out the name myself so I can find a double size one.

So sorry Zoe, I don't think this helps much.

And yes, you are right about a good nights sleep, I never had any trouble sleeping when I had the underlay on.   Nowadays I toss and turn all night (sometimes).

Marja, unless Zoe finds a label inside with the name on it, I have no idea and can't find the receipt.   I bought a new Double bed one from Holy Sheet at Noosa Civic, ( the Biomagnetic one they advertise on TV) for $199.00.  They guarantee your money back if not satisfied, but I'm more than satisfied with mine.  This one has a cotton cover as opposed to the fleecy one I gave Zoe, I wouldn't recommend that you'd expect miracles from it, although a good nights sleep is guaranteed and is all I was ever after.
