Goat's Milk Soap questions
Hi,

I'm hoping someone could answer some questions about Goat's Milk Soap for me.  Preferably someone who currently actually uses GMS.

I've heard GMS is good for dry skin.  Is that true?

To improve the moisturising quality of the GMS, are there any other ingredients besides goat's milk to look for in a GMS?

I look forward to your responses.

I will be watching this thread with interest, as i was told GMS is good for dry skin, and with my little girls suffering with this i gave some a try but it made them itchier and didnt improve the dryness. In saying that i did find the soap quite scented and perhaps there is a GMS out there that is more natural and would work better.
For someone that doesnt have sensitive skin it is a lovely soap and smells divine.

Your daughters' experience sums up what I was wondering could happen.  There seems to be some variance in GMS ingredients.  I'm hoping someone could enlighten us with which ingredients to avoid and which are beneficial to include in the soaps.  I'm considering buying some for a male relative and I don't think he'd want a highly-scented soap.

I haven't tried GMS but from the market I got some Olive Oil soap, I found that was good for my dry skin. some cheap shops have it too if you can't find it here.
I love Goats milk, good for those who are lactose intolerant, easier to digest.

Hi,

I use goats milk soap all the time. Wont go back to normal soap. I have very sensitive skin and the soap has made my skin softer and I have no problems at all.

It has also worked really well on my husbands skin. He is a mechanic and is alway really dirty. This soap had made his skin come up a lot cleaner.

I bought mine on here from goatsmilksoap (a long time ago in bulk)

Buy unscented soap. The first time I used it I thought is smelt weird but I have gotten used to the smell now.

Thanks for the info about the olive oil soap.  That's another one I've wondered about.  I'll have to have a look here on Oztion to see if anyone sells a sampler pack of the different soaps.

Grandson (10 yrs) uses GMS for his eczema & it seems to have helped him - I havent noticed that it is as red raw as use to be.
( I dont know if he used it for a while or not before noticing a difference)  Pauline :)

GMS actually makes my skin dry and gives me the worst eczema. I heard lots of people were getting excellent results with it but not me.  I only have to use it once and I get eczema .

I can certainly recommend it.  I love the luxurious feel of the goatsmilksoap when lathering up between my hands and when I apply it to my face and body.  I have used it for ages, bought in bulk from here.   Has helped alot and taken away the redness.  You can also buy shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

There seems to be mixed results.  Could it be due to the variance of ingredients or the quality of the ingredients?

Personally, I like Dove and have found it to be very moisturising, but had wondered if GMS was even better.  I've bought GMS and we'll how he fares using it.  Fingers crossed!

Goats Milk Soap is brilliant for dry skin. My husband cannot use soap from the supermarket. He has exzema and he finds goats milk soap as well as olive oil soap very calming on his skin.. My girlfriend makes natural soaps as well, including goats milk soap and I find very very recommendable.

cheers marie
