FREE TO LIST
Well looks like we may lose a few of our sellers here on Quicksales now that the other side is free listings
Cannot have anything on our own
The US has to do it better

 They will never stop

I seriously doubt they'll entice many back, if you read it properly there is a limit on the number of free listings, and the trade off is a whopping increase on FVF, hardly worth the effort.  Although,  I like to think we are beginning to worry them enough to react to our trends for a change instead of the other way around.  I know a lot of old Ebayers who are finally getting the message that the old grey mare just ain't what she used to be, hopefully my efforts to swing them in this direction might work better now.

I agree with Boo512! Why would I want to list there? My sales are just fine & I always sell more than 30 items per month, which is their free listing limit, so the point is moot.

I guess it depends on each individual's business case ...

I think some people were hesitant to list elsewhere because if the item didn't sell they were down $s ... and if they relisted they were down more .... but now they have the opportunity to list and relist without cost ... so the fvf may be less than the listing fees would have been if they listed the item twice, say ... if you are selling cheaper items, the fvf here on a $1 item is 25% ... so 7.9% might not seem unreasonable ... as the price goes up, maybe the increased visibilty is worth the extra fvf...

I think it is a good idea to use the best of each site ... they don't need to be mutually exclusive ... sellers may be happy if they sell 30+ items a month here .... but might sell even more if they diversify .... each to their own ...

Lots of sites have free listing and some with even smaller selling fees, the only thing that annoys me with the other side is the conditions they place on sellers and that alone will eventually make many leave and find other places to list.

The US isn't doing anything better , in fact going by the many unhappy campers they are in fact making members quite unhappy with the way eBay is progressing.

I agree with Boo's comments.  Strange that here we have members saying that QS should be charging a listing fee but there's that other place copying our style.  Even free gallery.  BUT you still have to pay for the extra two QS free photo's and the near 40% increase in fvf.  Plus the usual restrictions on sellers.

Yes they might get a few sellers back there using them but I seriously doubt that QS will see the exodus that  that place suffered when they put unfair restrictions on sellers.

I think you'll find that it's to entice people back who have discovered in droves the merits of selling for free using social media which has even a wider range of potential buyers than they do. I notice a lot saying that they used to sell there, no longer do as it's cheaper and easier to use social media. Plus there's much less hassles wih TOS usually. Mind you there's downfalls too but I think that's where they're heading.

I think Remayne's right, social media is the future of online selling, something that eBay realises........quicksales can't even get the upload to facebook button right (every other site on the internet has a perfectly funtional [share] button!).

I have set everything up here and very happy with this site, the other site was getting out of hand with their FVF etc.
i will be staying with this site and also i have promoted my shop on exact seek with a paid add as well ....
And i am still a mile infront of the fees on the other site.

hi,
its only the 99c listings with a maximum of 30 free listings. it won't take people away from quicksales. atleast here you can list an item at any price for free unlike ebay and yes of course they have increased the FVF to 7.9% it even applies to the store sellers to, ebay on the decline I would say

Penny

koolkatzonline - That's not true, you can place any price on your 30 free to list items on the other side, it is not restricted to .99c, nor is it restricted to Auction only. It might be a good thing to diversify and list there as well, if only for the extra exposure.  If QS could just fix their share to FB link, maybe sellers wouldn't be looking to list elsewhere.

When I read it I think it is 30 free listings at any value - They have been running 15 free listings for .99c for the last 6 months. Maybe I will have to check again as I might have misread it  usually got to read their announcements a couple of times to fully understand.

They have done this not because they are worried about quicksales - they are just catching up with the other world Ebay sites.
USA and Canada have 50 free listings any value and yes they increased the FVF to 9.75%  PLUS including the FVF on postage costs.
UK has 100 free listings at 0.99p
Ireland Has 100 free listings at 1.49Euro
So allup if you want wish to list International  that would be 330 free listing
If you have 2 ID's it would  be 660 listings .
Your FVF bill though could end up pretty high though

As mentioned earlier; I'm happy here. I really don't think the major site has smaller seller interests anywhere on its radar.

Site traffic here may be a tad slower, but the quality of customer & seller is so far superior! A lot  of my custom comes from repeat buyers, some of which have been with me since I first joined Oztion/Quicksales. I've also had a good influx of brand new members. Cheers, TTLG

Wish I had 30 odd sales on here
I think I could give some of my items away & still get no takers...LOL
I try to keep prices down but then with what I sell here there are a lot of sellers selling the same thing & they seem to get repeat sales
I read that we can list there for any 30 items at any price,I listed some feathers for hair extensions 5 days ago and only got charged for the pics in Gallery 32 cents each
So far I have doubled the price as what I paid for them I know I will have to pay 7.5 per cent on them but they sure move faster there
I could not see anybody here paying $200 & $300 for hair extensions, & they only have a day to go.
It is bad when I cannot get $2.00 for a pair shoes here
But I will keep on here for a little longer I am trying to get sales here for a particular doll & make it known that I sell them here, had a taker that has bought a few things
Maybe they will pass the word on I hope
GOOD LUCK TO ALL SELLING HERE

I am selling here and at one other spot. No plain on selling anything there. Even though it is slow here for me I have no reason to complain. Some will give it a try but I think some will keep going back and forwards anyway.

I stopped selling here ages ago, gave Quicksales or Oztion as it was called a really good shot for 3+ years, had 150+ listings... but hardly made enough sales to justify the effort of listing. Tried everything that people suggested on the forums, posted in SPOTD daily, advertised elsewhere, held sales... to no avail. I hate the other side's customer service but I make more money there for less effort, even after fees. Now that the listings are free, it's even better. I waited 3+ years for Quicksales to improve, but it didn't... which is just sad, because I really wanted there to be proper competition for the other side. The Quicksales community is lovely, you meet much nicer people on here.. but I work fulltime now so don't have ages of time to waste on listing things that don't sell....
