FLOOD APPEAL NOW CLOSED-mads asks "All those who have participated -Please read this..
Good morning everyone .

Sadly the midnight hour has passed and I must now ,with regret, declare the Flood Appeal officially closed .

For those of you still waiting for the payments on your goods to arrive or those who still have current flood listing items with bids on them -please do not panic the " Flood Appeal -Post your Receipts Only here." will remain operational until Wednesday, February 2nd (another 2 weeks) .
Once you have received your payment/s and made your donation please click to this link -
Flood Appeal -Post your Receipts Only here.  and post your receipt / receipt number.

I'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one of you for taking part in this appeal.

Sellers -thank you for donating your goods for sale.
Buyers - thank you for specifically seeking out and purchasing the items marked 'Flood Relief ' .
Adim - thank you for allowing this Appeal to take place.

To each and every one of you -thank you for proving me wrong !
I didn't have any real expectations on how many of you would support this appeal or how much we'd raise .
I knew that there would be a few OZ members who would participate and I was hoping that we'd raise at least a few hundred ( maybe $200 -$300) dollars.
Well I'm very pleased and thankful to say "You have all definitely proven me wrong !.
My approximate tally/total a few days ago was $1000.00 - now let's get a more accurate total shall we .

Please go to this thread and please follow the instructions :-

FLOOD APPEAL : How Did We Do ? " TALLY THREAD"

Again my sincerest thanks to everyone who has been a part of this appeal .
Never let it be said that we do not have a great caring community here on OZtion . Once again you have shown this community spirit to alive and stronger than ever !

In closing I like to raise a question that has been asked by quite a few of you and that is this...

" Can't we extend this appeal?"

My answer has been this :-

Unfortunately this appeal must end at midnight tonight as those were the arrangements made between admin & myself. As I mentioned in the original thread admin allowed this flood appeal on the condition that they will not allow any more appeals relating to the floods .

However, if sellers choose to continue selling and donating as individuals I , personally can't see that being a problem.

I do however recommend that if individual sellers wish to  continue selling and donating on their own then as a 'courtesy' to their buyers they should email their buyers a copy of their donation receipt.
As I mentioned -this is a suggestion only.

Hope this 'suggestion' helps those who do want to continue helping those affected by the flood.

If you have any questions or comments -please feel free to post them here.

Yep, thanks so much, mads!! I was really happy that I could do something to help. Couldn't afford to donate much in the way of money myself, but now I feel like I've done a bit to help those who've lost everything!!

Thanks to my buyers also!!

Thank you mads for your efforts too especially in getting Admin to allow the flood appeal.

There is a wonderful caring element to the Oztion Community, and in dark times that's assuring to know. Well done everyone who showed they cared in whatever way.

Great Job Mads in getting all this organized.
well done to all who in some way done something.
I know I have a lot less items waiting to be listed some have gone to flood relief the others are going today. I took my items to L J Hookers was told someone was driving down from Chinchilla to Brown Plains to pick up clothing so yes they would need more donations, I have 6 large plastic bags to take there today.
AS my items have been going to unsold off they go too.
big clearance at my place.
I needed that kick up the butt to get me motivated..LOL.

Congratulations Mads, for doing such a brilliant job.  It is indeed heartwarming to know that so many people care.  It was a really well organised appeal - even if I didn't sell anything, I was able to buy a couple of things.
Well done!

Way to go Mark!   You have a heart of gold.
Thanks to yourself for organising this Oztion appeal.
Thanks to Admin for giving permission and big thanks to the Buyers and Sellers who helped make it happen.
I was feeling so useless watching it all unfold and this was a way to be proactive, even if I'm at the other end of Australia.
Good on you Oztion!
