FLOOD APPEAL-;mads asks "How are we doing so far ?..
G'day Everyone.

To all of you who have been taking part in the Flood Relief appeal -be it selling or buying -I  thank each and every one of you.

As I have mentioned in the other threads -it doesn't matter weather you have listed an item  -or bought an item for .10c or $10,000 ..it all adds up and I'm sure -regardless of the amount  -it will be appreciated by  all those affected by the Queensland floods.

As most of you would be aware this appeal will only run until Wednesday (next week) January 19th.  So if you want to take part please get your item/s listed soon -and  remember to put "Flood Relief Appeal " in your items main title !

Please also remember after making your donation to the Premiers Flood Relief Appeal ( see main thread/post for details on how/where to donate) to post your receipt number ( or a pic of your receipt) in the 'Flood relief Receipt' thread .The purpose of doing this is assure everyone -your buyer/s in  particular , that you have made your donation .

OK...lets  an get an idea of how this appeal is going.
If you have already sold something please post the the amount that you have donated here.
Then lets keep it going -from here on in as you sell - add your donation amount
here.
Once the appeal finishes ( Wednesday,Jan 19th) I'll give everyone a week to post their amounts here and then I'll do a 'grand tally'

Again thank you everyone for taking part.

**As our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the Queensland Floods -let's not forget to keep in mind those in Western Australia affected by bushfires, and those in NSW & Victoria ( and possibly Tasmaina & Sth Aust) affected by floods..or about to be affected by possible flooding .**

I'd like to participate also but instead of changing the names of over 600 listings, I'd like to offer a percentage of all sales. I've updated my shopfront and will update that daily with each sale.  My heart truly goes out to all those effected & hope that they all stay safe & well.

Hi everyone..

Marian ( and everyone else who's asking) , as much as I would dearly love to keep this appeal going longer (Lord knows those who have been flood affected need all the help they can get )  unfortunately the arrangements agreed upon between myself and Admin was to run the appeal for 14days -and I am a man of my word and therefore will abide by those arrangements/agreement I made.

However, when you think about this appeal - it is not me 'running' the appeal , I merely put the suggestion on the forum and asked people to do their thing ..sellers to list an item/s and for buyers to give more consideration to purchasing those items listed as 'Flood appeal'.
In reality -you are each doing it on your own ;) The sellers listing ,selling & donating and the buyers are seeking out the flood relief appeal items and buying them.

So when the 'end date' of January 19th comes around I don't think anyone with a heart, an ounce of sympathy or a conscience would object to individual sellers using 'flood releif' in their items title( please do not put the word 'appeal' in your title as this 'appeal' would have ended) and donating the money - after all when you think about it isn't that what we are all doing now ? There is no one person collecting money or 'running things'.

The only difference would be that from January 19th the 'Flood Appeal'as such  and all it's threads will be ended (except the receipts thread -this should continue for a week or so in order for donation receipts from last minute sales to be posted.)

From there on in, should an individual choose to list their items and donate their proceeds as an individual, then that will be the  individuals choice.

Please keep in mind that admin have allowed me to 'run' the current 'appeal' and this appeal is the only one that that will be permitted.

As I said -I asked /checked with admin about doing an appeal for 14 days in which OZ members could participate. I posted the idea in a thread whereby  I put the suggestion forward to anyone who wanted to participate and other threads to 'guide' those participating and another thread for sellers to post their receipts .From there it has been each individual that has been doing it all ( listing , buying & making your donations).

I've donated financially through the website. They are asking people NOT to bring material donations to the evacuation centres, so please only donate money to help Queenslanders who have been effected, to get back on their feet.

"Ms Bligh says bringing bags of donated clothes and other items to evacuation centres is a hindrance, not a help. She asks that people please hold off, as evacuation centre staff cannot handle the influx of donations"

It's a shame we can't make a donation with paypal - so far I have had two people pay with paypal and it would have been great to be able to do the donation straight away with the funds rather than having to transfer those funds into my bank account which takes days.

Wow it has taken me long enough to make the donation, finally did it at AUS Post today, how easy is that for us OZtion Sellers!

$10.20 sale and partial postage a donation of $14.

I have bought heaps of flood relief stuff as well, and it's a win win situation. If they don't want the items at the evacuation centres I'll take them lol!

G'day snooze.
This appeal finishes at midnight tomorrow night.

However, if sellers choose to continue selling and donating as individuals I , personally can't see that being a problem.

I do recommend however that if individual sellers do continue to sell and donate on thier own then as a 'courtesy' to their buyers they email their buyers a copy of their donation receipt.
As I metioned -this is a suggestion only.
