FAKES , FAKES AND MORE FAKES - HOW COME THESE ITEMS ARE STILL HERE???
OMG!!
i have just been looking through a particular section here and came across a vshop. i was dumbfounded there is over 400 fakes - clear as a bell
1. by the photo - and the details on the photo
2. by the postage of 25.00
3. its obvious that the items are coming from china/hong kong
4. the cost of the items - if they were genuine they would be in excess of $500
5. there is no suggestion on the listing whatsoever that the goods are coming from o/seas.

i seriously that that all these cheap imitations were to be no longer.!!

Totally agree but in defence of qs they have removed a huge number of these listings in the last few months.

If you want to do anything , as qs cannot just remove items without proof that they are fakes - either contact  the makers or copyright owners and notify them.

Over yonder you now need proof of authenticity of such items before listing any of these products or the listings get pulled and your account gets put on hold or removed ( still plenty of fakes there but it's working)

Unfortunately there are many buyers who just love their cheap fakes and continue to buy them and leave glowing feedback. If they waited with their feedback for a few months they'd have enough time to see how cheap and nasty the products are when the stitching comes undone or the gold/silver tarnishes.

There's so many products being copied you now need to be aware it's not just clothing/accesories/jewelery etc it's also headphones , speakers with famous names , Microsoft products , shoes etc.

I think thats a great idea issabella about needing proof of authenticity to list certain brand items.

As issabella has said contact the compaines involved then if they contact Quicksales they can act.

At the end of the day (and i havent looked here btw) but if your looking for a Rolex for example and you see one advertised for $5 chances are its not real

Down at our local markets we have people selling fake sunglasses and bags around the $20 - $40 mark. I've bought from there before as have half of Logan. I will never be inclined to spend $500 on a bag or pair of sunnies -whether it be deisgner brand or K-mart

I like the designs down at the markets and for $20 who cares !

The one thing different this market stall does -  is they tell you it's designer inspired - they don't claim their products are the real thing. So they are not deceiving people

So that to me is the difference here - sellers of these goods need to be upfront

oh i have had an investigating afternoon - really enlightened actually -there are heaps selling fakes - from my calculations there are well over 2000 in just 1 category.

one thing i just dont understand is that - why positive are leaving a positive - when they can at least leave a neg/neut.

i was just reading some and have a look at this comment left by a buyer to a seller
Comment left by

Unfortunately QS as was the case with Oztion cannot act until and unless they are contacted by the owners of the copyright. so it is best to contact the relevant companies direct , although it often is futile

Black and White - to answer your question EVERYTHING is 'designer inspired' - nothing is real and nothing is fake - we all get there in the end....lol

I would like to post a quote here from one of my favourite movies - The Devil Wears Prada

Here's what Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) had to say....

This... stuff? Oh... ok. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean. You're also blindly unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves St. Laurent, wasn't it, who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and so it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of stuff.

Each to their own but there's a hell of a difference between "Designer Inspired" and something that looks the same and carries the Designers/Brand owners name but is a blatant copy.

Check out what the US is doing with China , numerous court cases against Chinese manufacturers copying US owned brands.

Copyright laws exist for a reason , and they even cover such things as using other peoples images

Its amazing how much crap gets into the country when Customs sieze so much, and yes many items are copyrighted, some think its safe to take the risk for a quick buck. Marian

Bella I hear you, that's the difference of being upfront or deceiving

I would say most of the bags down at the markets are those ones with the big G on them.  Some have a  LV print but they have altered the print so it looks a little different.  Everybody knows what they are buying there.

Hey, we'll soon be over-run by the Chinese anyway so what difference does it make?

On ABC AM yesterday:

Caltex is considering shutting down two refineries, as they can’t compete with Asia. This represents 25% of our refining capacity. Apparently Shell has already planned one shutdown of its own.

Australian 15 year olds are two years behind their East Asian counterparts in maths, and one year behind in literacy and science.

When they take over we'll be the ones working for THEM as slaves....

I would sooner buy a cheaper fake at 20.00 than buy a "designer" bag with rip off prices.  Got more money than sense if you spend more than 100.00 on a bag!

Besides if it wears out quicker....who cares get a new one and a new style at the same time, instead of the same old bag for 10 years just so you can get your moneys worth out of it.

Hi shadowlurker

no i understand what you are saying - what really p......me off is that to get these bags on here it costs $25.00 for postage - and then they are going for around $80.00. - they are blatant rip offs - and my heart goes out to some of the buyers who have bought where they could have bought a similar bag for $20 etc etc. some of the feedback i have read - the zippers have broken first use - not as described in the picture totally different to what they thought was being purchased - smaller than what it should be - colours different - thats just some of the feedback left.

i just honestly cant believe that there are about 2000 on here for sale - yet i remember an instance of a seller on here who had to remove all her kids stickers - i think it was last year.

i just dont figure it.
