Eye Cream - Gel or Cream ?
I'm looking for an eye cream or gell that helps with dark circles under the eye , not so much wrinkles .

Have you a tried and tested favourite ? I don't like heavy creams .

My DIL and her friend were actually discussing this at morning tea the other day.  Apparently be careful what you purchase and only purchase a brand name you trust preferably from a chemist or a major store.

Some of the other items sold on line (as famous brand  names) and in cheaper stores are manufactured in China, and don't have clinically proven ingredients that are safe by our standards.

These ingredients can do long term damage to your eyes, the lady with DIL said her doctor told her that some of the items contain lead etc and other unauthorized elements but are labelled with Designer names and labels, which are in fact not manufactured by these companies at all, but are chinese fakes.

It was interesting that the lady said some mens shaving creams and deodorants were amongst those her doctor warned her about.  She was saying he also warned her about buying washing powder cheap from the cheap stores, apparently though boxed with brand names we all know the ingredients can be anything but what our laws allow to be added.

Thanks Zadkiel . I wouldn't contemplate even considering a cosmetic brand that was even remotely linked to being a fake designer item ( I think we all know my stand on that )

Nor do I buy products that are tested on animals , or those coming from China.

I'm after something tried and tested and there's nothing better then personal experiences on a product , something that actually works .

Yep it was mine.

Repost:

Its trial and error with eye creams - what works for one person may not work for others.

Dark circles are caused by stagnant toxins in the body, an unhealthy diet, dehydration by not drinking enough water, too much coffee/tea/alcohol, not enough sleep and some people are borne with them (genetics).  Bad digestion can also cause them (e.g. constipation, IBS and liver/gall bladder issues).

Creams will not work for genetic dark circles but can help with other types as long as diet is improved and water consumption increased.

hi merfish, my post (which was for information) was also deleted! Replied to: Topic 398798 -

try ultraceuticals dark cirle eye cream. You only need a tiny bit, and the 25g tube will last for over a year.
Use an eye gel if you skin isnt dry, use the cream if you have dry skin, most eye creams aren't heavy, and if they feel heavy, you might be using too much (all you usually need is the amount the size of a grain of rice) and GENTLY pat it into skin only on the orbital bone, no closer to theeye area. THe warmth of the skin usually helps it spread.
