No I haven't had it done but I have done a lot of research into it and have been present when it has been done on someone else. It is safe if done correctly & shouldn't hurt. If it works it means you don't need to have a caesar.

What worked for me was moxi bustion so my baby turned with that before ECV was neccessary. I had previously had a baby who didn't turn so was born breech and one who turned on his own (he ended up being 10 lb 13 oz so......)

Some babies will never turn because they might have their arms in a funny position or something like that. Some turn on their own quite late. Lying down and relaxing of an evening will often be when they turn because they're often more active then, and you will know! LOL

Good luck I would say go for it
cheers belly

Yes I had it done. My first was breech. They did not succeed in turning her and i would go through a c-section any day before I will try to have my baby turned external. It was very uncomfartable. Not so much that it is painful. More that the musle relaxant they give you makes your heartbeat go up and you just feel sick after a while. I am not sure if they will do it if the placenta is at the front as they might rupture it . They really give it a good push and I got worried for the baby.

Sorry it has been 5+ years so can not tell you in detail anymore. I know that there is a chance of baby turning back. Like I said, it did not work with me and I ended up with a c-section. Some have more trouble with c-section and pain. I found my first one almost painless strangly enough. My second was  born naturaly so you still can have a natural birth  after a c-section. My third also turned in time but I went for a c-section.

My daughter was breech until the morning of the Caesarean and she turned on her own (39 weeks). We were told this would not happen but it did. We opted against the ECV as the risks I beleive outweighed the benefits. You risk premature labour - rupturing of the placenta and many other things, you should definitely do some research before you make a decision. My SIL had a ruptured placenta which lead to emergency caesarean - because baby was without oxygen for a little while he was born with Cerebal Palsy. This is not common however it is a risk and you should be aware. Knowledge is Power.

You must be very uncomfortable - For the last three weeks I felt like the baby was line dancing on my cervix. Not Pleasant. She was our last, all my other pregnancies were normal.

And a lot of bubs that they manage to persuade to turn end up back in a breech position.  If the baby wants to be breech nothing will change that - first hints of its future individuality and stubournness me thinks.
