I want to record the tennis soon on 7two. I have a 2 year old LG HD digital TV hooked up to a 7 year old Pioneer DVD Recordable. I have watched many DVDs and recorded TV programs on channels 9 and 10. But when I tried to set the timer to record 7two, I have found that I can only get the analogue channels. I tried auto re-programming and manual re-programming but it still only gets the analogue channels. Is there anything I have to do to the DVD player to switch it to receive digital channels, or is it too old and a need to get a new one? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Hi skattykat, You should be able to record digital channels from your TV to your DVD recorder through a cable, take the output from your TV and feed it into the AUX input of your DVD recorder (usually AV3) and select 7two on your TV. You may have to go to setup on your DVD recorder to select the aux input.
I tried connecting the red, yellow and white cables from the external outlets on the TV to the internal inlets on the DVD recorder but I couldn't get any signals at all, the only way it would work was the way I had it hooked up originally but I still only get analogue channels. I rang the manufacturer to see if indeed the dvd recorder is compatible with digital equipment. The response I got was that the Pioneer DVR-320 S does not have a DVB -T digital tuner and therefore would not be able to receive the digital TV channels. It is by design specified to work with analog signals. A possible workaround is to use/connect a set-top-box.
I think I will shout myself a new DVD recorder, making the most of the June sales Thank you everyone for your interest & your help
