Hi, take the game out and give the slot a big blow seriously it can help.

No problems with my dsi (daughters) but had this happen to my sons ds a year or so ago.

You can also try taking out and reinserting the game card.

worth a note as well, apparently fake ds games can cause problems (i actually took my sons ds console to eb games and they told about the fake/cheap/inferior  games cartridge) this wasnt my problem (dust was) but thought id mention it.

Good luck

Yeah, like kiwiroo said, try  blowing on the game cartridge and the slot.

Try another DS game if you have one, and see if the same problem occurs.

Furthermore, as previously stated, bootleg DS games will not boot on DSi, and neither will cartridges that facilitate piracy, such as the R4, Supercard, Cyclo DS Evolution and anything similar.

If blowing doesnt help, another cartridge has the same effect and you aren't using pirate cartridges then it is time to call Nintendo on(03) 9730 9822 between 9am and 5pm EST

Make sure there is no foreign body in the slot, try blowing, other games etc.  We had one little brother put something in the slot that looked just like the pins in there, When removed with tweezers it continued to work for a long time but then carked it.  I bought replacement slot from China, was going to fix myself  but it involves soldering so I gave up. Nintendo charge a fortune to fix them. I ended up getting a local bloke who's good at such things to fix it for $20.00.
Once the pins get bent, they usually require replacing.

If it is still under warranty, nintendo may or may not fix it for you. They tell you that if it looks like it has been damaged then you will be given the option of paying them $70? to repair or they will return it at your expense.  I strongly suspect they will say it has been damaged whether it has or not!
