Does anyone know if there will be a different (newer) DS console out than the current 3DS?

Hi so im debating what to get one of my children for Christmas have got 2 of them sorted for Christmas i think, well their main presents but am stuck on one.

Im humming and harring over the Nintendo 3DS. Does anyone have one? Are they better than the normal DSi consoles?

Next question does anyone know if there are going to be any newer consoles out (not sure how old this one is) as i dont want to buy this one only to find a new version has come out by Christmas.

Decisions, decsions..lol

Any help for those in the know appreciated :-)

Thanks

Hi the 3ds has only just been released in the last couple of months so i doubt there will be another one b4 x-mas.

These are heaps better the the dsi, they are also heaps bigger.

I have just put one on layby for christmas at the big w sale.

It was $298 with a game and the dsi is $198 so for me it was well worth the extra $100.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Well... I don't like the 3DS - it makes my eyes go funny lol   As you would expect Mr. 21 has got one and I can't look at it for more that 30 seconds, Miss 12 was the same at first, she was going to buy one - sold her DSi to put money towards it, but after seeing her brothers decided not to get one because it gave her headaches (she wears glasses for reading) but now she wants one (typical) as Mr 21 is here staying with us at the moment and she likes it now -so guess what I'm buying her for christmas???

Not sure what to tell you about this one - after I sunk your hopes with the Kinect the other day pmsl  Out of our family Mr 21 has no problems with it, Mr 19 and his girlfriend do, Miss 12 doesn't and I do - I can focus on the character but the back ground spins with my eyes - but you can turn the 3D part down or off it it's really bad - but then don't suppose it's any better than a DSi then

But Mr A thinks it is much better and will give you the sales lecture if you ask (I was silly enough to ask the difference pmsl) apparently it is different and people don't realise this.........................

Hey i had the same question a month ago.

I would talk to someone at eb games, they all own one and are really into their games and have a lot of info about them. I currently have a dsi and am upgrading to the 3ds. It has a heap more features and suits my needs more. Depends on the age of the child, cause many of the features young ones dont need.

The 3d does have the switch to turn the 3d up or down, i have no problem with it. The graphics are awesome with 3d games! I love using it hence buying one. Its lots of fun for a big kid :) But i would talk to eb sales staff.
