Does anyone have an e-Book Reader ?
If you do , are they any good ? Do you have an expensive one or a cheap one and either way are you happy with how they perform ?

I've read up on a few and I'm concerned about the battery time , some say they have 12 hours yet I've seen comments that say the battery power runs out at as little as 1 hour.

Also there seems to be a vast amount from China ( androids?) are these suitable for AU and can you download easily to them.

I enjoy reading and would like something portable to take with me on trips .

I bought one. Charged it for the recommended time and then when I went to use it a couple of hours later it was flat (and it was off the whole time)

I use my iPad and either the iBooks app or the Kindle app

I have a "MiGear" eBook Reader (cost under $100 at BigW) and I take it everywhere with me.

No issues with battery - on average it lasts for 8 hours of reading before needing a recharge, I usually only do 2-3 hours of reading maximum at a time.

Easy to download books from internet via pc/laptop.

Hi issabella ive also been doing some research on these.

Apparently if you get one,  go for one that has digital ink technology. They are supposed to be much, much better.

You can read it in direct sunlight etc as opposed to those that have a backlit screen which causes "Glare" and eye strain on a sunny day.

Hi issabella

After a lot of debating (and trying out Kindle and Kobo) I finally bought a Sony 650.

It cost more than the others but I am rapt. It travels with me and I am finally able to read some books!

It has a 6" screen, no glare and a long lasting battery. I like the audio feature because I listen to music on it too. I like the dictionary feature as well. I was a bit cynical because I sit in front of a computer all day and after a few hours the glare gets to me ... but I have been converted. The pages turn quickly aswell ... Oh, I also have a light for reading under the covers at night!

Happy hunting ... and happy reading
