I dont think they should tell you where they are located. Poepl just slow down as they are going past and then speed up again.

I think the mobile speed cameras  are not listed unless someone posts it's whereabouts in the forums ?There's quite a few red light ones now in Cairns , mainly at dangerous intersections .

They had a mobile speed van here some weeks ago and some clown ran into the back of it and put it out of action for 3 weeks
I wish the police would put it out during the week though , not just on a weekend as it only catches cars and not the maniac cowboy truckies thundering through ( and no not all are like that but some are )

Our local council at Gosford wants to book the mobile vans, as they are parking on footpaths, which is illegal!
On one of the after the news shows the other night, they were saying you cant access where the mobile vans will be.
Like everything else, they mainly catch the person doing a bit over the speed limit, when there are maniacs doing high speed elsewhere.Marian

I think it might do the opposite .... people just slow down for the camera and then speed up again ....

I Think it is a reminder that we have to drive with care.
most younger drives just don't care. as it normally their parents that have to pay the fines for them.
It is easy to get distracted when driving.
I think it you know where these fixed cameras are it helps you to be more alert.
most people just don't slow down for an amber light and those of us who do the right thing have some idiot running up our back end. There comment to that would be.. why didn't you go through you had plenty of time...
that is not the point.
orange/amber light means...get ready to stop.
If ppl done this we would not need Red light camera any way. This is why my comment ..this should help people to drive more safely. there are too many idiots out there.

I dont believe in all these revenue makers, I really believe more Police presence on the roads keeps idiot drivers at bay.
Driving to Sydney on the F3, there are absolute maniacs, cutting in and out, changing lanes back & forth, and rarely ever is a Police car seen.
And the trucks, well some are maniacs on wheels. Marian

Thank you, I dont speed at all, but good to know when to show my smile and stop scratching my groin.

If the authorities were really concerned about road safety, as opposed to revenue raising, they would HALF the fines and DOUBLE the points.

Most (arrogant) drivers value their licence more than they do their dollars.

Lifey who has a clean licence

Uhh... Lifey - If the .gov really wanted to reduce the road toll, they'd put the cameras at the black spots, not on the straight highways....

i would love every body to make a pact and say choose one day that they just don't speed.
The government would be screwed.
The amount of money lost nationally just for one day would be phenomenal.
I used to brake immediately when i saw a white car years ago.
Now i only brake when i see the flash coloured cars.
Police presence is the key, but the government would not make the same money.
Its revenue raising only.

...and if they cant get revenue this way....they will find another way!!! Its ALL about money.

Well if no one went over the speed limit or ran through red lights , there'd be no revenue to collect . So if they collect money by people breaking road rules then I say go for it . The money goes into the community to keep police employed to keep the public safe and provide community based services .

The clowns who speed through our town and get caught can pay up as far as I'm concerned , they can revenue collect 24/24 and make a fortune as it won't stop the idiots, easy money .

The politicians and police should have the licence points as well, they always breaking the road rules. I know this will never happen, they are above the law.
