only thing I could suggest hun is lip liner... but not only line your lips with it... lightly shade them as well with the liner before adding your fav lippy....

Let us know how it goes

Hi closet-angel
My tip would be to get a matching lip-liner to outline your lips ~ use only on your lips, not over! Then apply your lippy with a brush, blot with tissue & go again.

Hi CA

A little bit of plain lip balm underneath your lipstick should help too.

You could have your lips tattooed - OUCH!

If you use a good quality foundation or one specifically labelled 'oil free', rub some on your lips when you do your face, that will also keep lipstick 'contained'.

Thank you all for your tips. Have added to my shopping list :

numerous shades of lip liner
plain lip balm
oil free foundation

Will give them all a whirl except for the tatoo.... lol

I have tried the so called non bleeding lipsticks but have not found one yet that actually works

when applying your foundation, simply apply a small amount to your lips as well, dust with a small amount of  your powder foundation and allow it to set before applying your lipstick. this will help stop feathering and bleeding, and having to re-apply your lipstick during the day.

you can also use a lip plumper, sally hansen is just one of many. this will help you lips to plumpen and feel and look fuller, or any wax based lipliner will stop the 'bleeding' as well.

My lippy used to bleed but ever since I changed over to one of those 8 hour lipsticks......no more bleeding! Just paint the colour on, let it set and then paint on the lip gloss. I'll never go back to using 'regular' lipstick.

No I don't........but I do find it comes off so much easier using my cheapy vitamin E cream. Even my mascara comes off easier with my (homebrand) cheapy vitamin E cream!   Go figure!

Hi closet-angel ,

I agree with Julie, I use the 24 hour job with the lip balm on the end, just paint it on, cover with the lip balm and that is it.  No reapplying lippy, no colour loss (till you want it to come off), no bleeding, and doesnt eat off either, great for work and nice colours. I dont know if I can say the brand name here, but it is very reasonably priced. It doesnt stain your lips.  Just have to be carefull with the brush, now I am "old", I cant really see to put it on without my other eyes and really bright lighting.

I can also vouch for the foundation over the lips and then a light dust of translucent powder, then apply your lippy.

Another alternative is a lip wax.  Applied to the lip line, then lippy on as usual.  The wax prevents the lipstick from bleeding or feathering.

good on you, a bit of lipstick really brightens the face. My tips. If your lips ae dry, use a soft face flannel, and rub over lips. Use a TINY bit of lip balm, and remove most of it with a tissue. Use foundation, then a concealer just on the lip line,  and blend with either a clean lip brush, or cotton tip. Apply your lip liner, (all over) to either match your lipstick/or you can go lip colored. Blend with cotton tip. Apply lippy, best way to make it last is with a lipstick brush. Tissue to blot, then reapply. If you want to wear a gloss, only apply a tiny bit to the middle of your lip. The long last paint on ones are OK for special occassions, but are too drying and harsh for a daily basis

When you apply your foundation, apply it over your lips as well. Line them with a lip liner similar shade to your lips if you're going for a more neutral colour or if you're going for something bright like a red you will need a red liner to make it look good. Apply lippy with a brush, blot and apply again. You can always use a little translucent powder too to blot with if you have some at hand and want to go all out.

I've never liked the likes of revlon colourstay lippy with their clear overcoat, it just dries your lips out so much they feel like they want to crack.

And stear clear of eating anything greasy because that'll just take the lippy right off!
